Organization

By hidden.little.gem

Functional organization ideas for busy family life, kids, and everyday chaos.

No More School Paper Piles 📝

School papers used to live everywhere — backpacks, counters, the bottom of my bag. The amount of paper was honestly endless.

Now each kid has their own spot for artwork, homework, and school notes.
Anything important goes straight into their bin.
Simple, visible, and almost nothing gets lost. Giving everything a home truly keeps me sane.

These acrylic wall mounts from Walmart have served us so well this year.
The labels are the same Avery labels I already print and use around the house.

I was running up and down the stairs constantly trying to keep track of all the summer things — towels, bathing suits, changes of clothes, goggles… you name it. 👏🏼 Total chaos.

Now that summer’s almost over, I figured it was finally time to give our drop zone a little refresh to make life a bit more functional.

I found this drawer set at Walmart and it fit perfectly in the cubby (thankfully 🙌). And if you know me… you know I had to label it. I’m planning to switch things out each season.
It’s husband-proof — he can’t say he “can’t find something” now! 😅

I also added these hat hooks for the kids’ backpacks — they’re great because you can hang more than just the bag. Lunchboxes, jackets, etc… all in one spot.

And I finally made space for Chloe since she’ll be starting school this year. 🥺 Can’t even talk about it.

Inside each of the fabric cubes, I added two of my favorite Walmart plastic bins to act as dividers. During the school year (or even summer), one side holds their iPad, the other holds papers, random treasures… whatever they throw in there. 😂

When we built the house, my cousin said, “Don’t forget to add outlets in the drop zone!” and I’m so glad I did. I added a multi-plug outlet so we can charge multiple devices in one spot without cords everywhere.

✨ Comment “DROP ZONE” and I’ll message you the links of what I used! Everything’s also always linked on my LTK! 🫶🏼

Playroom Organization • Cube Organizers • Functional Spaces

I used 13” cube shelves, clear bins, woven baskets, and wire baskets to pull together this functional (and cute!) toy storage setup in our downstairs playroom. Everything is labeled which I love. I printed Avery labels on my printer and used clip-on basket labels for the baskets. I feel like it makes it easier for the kids to grab—and mostly put back all of their toys away.

It’s been super functional and aesthetically pleasing so I’m happy.🤌🏼 😂
