I used Samplize samples when I chose the blue-green for my dining room, so I was back at it for the exterior of the house. This decision felt SUPER weighty because, if we got it wrong, that’s a $$$ decision. I ordered 8 samples from Samplize ranging from a dark sage green to a blue-green gray. It was a super quick process to narrow it down to three, then I left those up all week (through torrential downpours!). Coming home to the big samples all week gave me a better idea of what the colors would look like than if I just stood outside with swatches. On the last morning, we went with the dark horse candidate — one I threw in my Samplize cart on a whim. And it looks GORGEOUS on the house. Truly a night and day transformation (though every time I say that, I think actually the house looks like night now, whereas it was day yelllow before...).

The loveliest way to start the morning surrounded by pretty blues and in this scalloped @heidicareydesign robe with a chinoiserie-inspired gardenia print (one of my favorite flowers!). I received a few DMs when I posted this on stories, and it’s such a nice weight. Light but not so light that it’s sheer, and the belt is attached, which is a surprisingly luxurious detail. Staying at The Cavalier Resort has been on our bucket list for ages, and we finally had a good excuse this past weekend while visiting Virginia Beach for a friend’s birthday weekend. We're en route home from a cozy winter getaway in North Carolina, where we were greeted with true winter temperatures. This boiled merino wool with its own bow scarf was my way to stay polished and warm while facing the wind and chilly air out in a new-to-me wine country. Feeling incredibly elegant and cozy in this sweater jacket with darling scalloped embroidery. It has a self tie (I'll share in stories!) that arranges the collar into the perfect bow, and the soft boiled merino wool is lovely for fall and winter. It felt totally right with crisp white jeans for brunch on an unusually warm and sunny late fall day, but I'm also excited to style it with black and pops of red for holiday. Every year, I review my planner on my blog and, for the past few years, I did the Everygirl x Day Designer planners. This year, Day Designer sent me their daily hardcover planner, which I'm so pumped to use

It’s 9" x 9.75" which is a good size — small enough to take with me, but not so small I can't easily write in it. The hardcover fabric is gorgeous.

I went with the daily because I love the ability to write out both my schedule AND my to-do list. I do that in my current planner, but always ran out of room.

I love the top three and the notes on each page — it keeps everything visually organized. The quotes on each page are a lovely touch.

LOVE the goal setting pages (no surprise), and having a monthly view is a must.

I'll go into a longer review on my blog tomorrow, but I'm counting down the days til I can really break this puppy open on January 1 (I’ve already added my first few January plans and deadlines!).
