I’ve been neglecting a growing to-paint-pile in my garage for quite some time, but adding to my dark & moody Christmas vibe, gave me the nudge I needed to get started & make a decent dent. I’m SO happy it did. It’s unreal what a can of spray paint can do. I wish I would have taken a before pic, but the antique whatchamacallit was silver, & the antlers were white with a light grey base (hurricanes). I’m OBSESSED with the black, & since these pieces aren’t obvious holiday decor, they will be sticking around 🖤

The decor on the bottom 2 shelves I’ve had for quite some time, & unfortunately can’t find a similar link. I painted black over the weekend & I’m obsessed. The antlers were white with a light grey base, & the antique style serving dish (for lack of an accurate name), was sliver.

H O L I D A Y / one of my favorite inexpensive ways to decorate for any season, or occasion, is digital print art. I just swapped out my spooky gothic Halloween prints for these moody vintage winter ones. They were super simple to download & print. I’ve tried printing them out at home, but the quality on my printer isn’t the best. I definitely prefer getting them printed on matte photo paper @walmartcanada photo centre.

A few little tips: 1) I find it helpful to arrange the photos in the layout on a counter or floor, & then reorder until I’m happy with the aesthetic before putting them in the frames 2) this kitchen scraper works really well to pry open those little metal prongs on the back of the frame 3) masking tape works best to secure the photo in place. It doesn’t rip the mat when removing, & it comes off the photo easily as well, so you can reuse it quite a few times.

A M A Z O N / how cute are these lil gingerbread man mini “waffles”?!? 😍 I used my gluten-free banana oat waffle recipe, & they turned out SO good. They do cook more like a lil pancake in this waffle maker, so we’re calling them Gingy Cakes ♥️ The kids LOVE them, so it looks like we have ourselves an adorable new holiday tradition 🥰

My Gluten-Free Banana Oat Waffle Recipe

Ingredients:
+ 2 cups gluten free rolled oats
+ 1 cup milk of choice*
+ 2 ripe bananas
+ 2 eggs
+ 1 tsp vanilla
+ 1 tsp baking powder
+ 1 tsp cinnamon
+ 1 tsp sea salt
+ 1 TB maple syrup

* I used to use almond milk for dairy free but now use full fat milk kids love both

Directions:
+ dump everything into a high powered blender & blend until smooth
+ I like to put in the fridge for an hour+ before cooking
+ pour batter into waffle maker
+ drop a few chocolate chips
+ close & cook until golden brown
+ we like them extra crispy so we pop them in the toaster for a quick double toast (but the kids ate these Gingy Cakes straight off the rack)
+ finish with a sprinkle of flaky sea salt

I typically double the recipe & flash freeze, for a quick & healthy, grab & toast breakfast 🧇🥞🤌🏻

I saw this one at target, but since I’m in Canada & I had a metal tree collar already, I used it for inspo, & voila, I got my look for less 🤌🏻

Now to do something about the cord…the nearest outlet is like 15 feet away 🤦🏻‍♀️

I ordered a second faux cedar garland (because it’s 🤌🏻) for my mantle this year, but when I went to put it up, I actually preferred the look of the single garland 🤷🏻‍♀️ I added white Christmas tree candles, & the nutcrackers I painted black last year instead. I plan to add the second cedar garland to my bedroom headboard.

I got the antique brass bells last year, & was planning to rub n buff them a more muted antique gold. I may still do that next year, but for this year, I’m actually pleasantly surprised by the copper tone.
