Home Sweet Home! ❤️ I get a lot of questions about how I clean and get back on track after vacation so I thought I’d share exactly what I do. I try to keep it simple. 🧼 I make sure the house is tidy before we leave because no one wants to come home to a mess. I make sure things are put away, the laundry is done, the fridge is cleaned out and the garbage is taken out before we leave. No rotting food in the fridge or horrible smells greeting us when we get home. 🧼 Unless we get home at midnight or later, I unpack everything right away. I hate digging around in my suitcase and I just feel so much better when everything is put away. John & the boys do this, too. 🧼 I do not clean my entire house in one day! I could do that at our previous, smaller house but it takes too long to clean my whole house in one day. I got home from vacation Monday evening so I picked up my cleaning routine on Tuesday and dusted, which I usually do on Mondays, and cleaned my glass & mirrors which is my usual Tuesdays task. Then, I’m back on track to vacuum on Wednesday, dust and mop wood floors on Thursday, clean bathrooms on Friday and change sheets on Saturday. This will make complete sense if you watch my YouTube videos 😊 PS: the sheets I washed in my stories were the ones we took to the condo.. Say I get home on a Thursday or Friday, I just wait until Monday to start my usual cleaning routine. The beauty of my cleaning routine is that things aren’t overwhelmingly dirty so if there’s a few extra days in between, it’s not the end of the world. 🧼 For zone cleaning, I just pick up where I left off. I had zones 1 & 2 clean before we left so this week, I’m doing zone 3. Again, if I get home mid to late week, I’ll just wait and do zone cleaning starting Monday.
