Many of the big box retailers buy from the same overseas suppliers you would find on Amazon and other marketplace sites … which is why you can find so many “looks for less” with a little digging. The dress above is $80 vs the dress on the left for under $40.

With the big box retailer sometimes you will find a wider range of available sizes like petite, tall or plus sizes but that’s only because the big box retailers usually pay for custom sizing. Sometimes they purchase the design but maybe on a thicker material hence “better quality”. Many times though the item is identical just with a different label.

Also just because you buy from a USA based retailer doesn’t mean you are purchasing “made in USA” products so just an fyi…. Shop based on what’s important to YOU as an individual and if you are just looking to save money then by all means looks for less can be the perfect option!

Ok this dress is beautiful and a great look for less but there are a few differences between the FP version and the Amazon version!

I purchased the Amazon version and then also tried on the FP version in store and here are my thoughts

*The Amazon one is good quality and fit is almost identical however it doesn’t come in XS. I bought the size small but it’s still slightly big so I’m unsure about keeping it.

*Fabrics are different. The FP one is 100% cotton and a bit more flowy whereas the Amazon one is slightly stiffer. The skirt part is a bit like taffeta fabric.

*Amazon version does have a lot more colors available

Both are cute dresses and I do think the Amazon one is worth the price but again the fabrics are slightly different and the Amazon one is not available in XS
