With a few simple tweaks to your skincare routine, you can keep your complexion calm, cool, and collected all winter long.
1. Cleanse wisely: Ditch the harsh, stripping cleansers and opt for creamy, hydrating formulas instead. Look for ingredients like ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin, which will help to replenish lost moisture while removing dirt and impurities.
2. Exfoliate gently: Exfoliation is important for sloughing away dead skin cells and revealing the radiant glow beneath. However, be gentle with dry skin – over-exfoliating can lead to irritation. Aim for once or twice a week using a gentle chemical exfoliant, such as those containing lactic acid or AHAs.
3. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize: This is the golden rule for winter skincare! Apply a rich, emollient moisturizer to your face and body immediately after cleansing, while your skin is still damp.
