It’s key when looking to accentuate the positives and minimize the negatives.

💛 Vertical lines lengthen and are the “fastest” for the eye to follow.
They create the illusion of height or length. The eye moves quickly over them - up and down.
That is why monochrome outfit lengthens - it creates one long vertical line.

🌷 Horizontal lines broaden or widen. The eye moves more slowly over them.
We naturally seek them for balance, as we’re always looking for the horizon. Every hem (unless it’s asymmetric) is a horizontal line.
