A casual Thanksgiving tablescape outdoors? 🦃🍂 Yes, please 🙌🏽 we’re spilling the tea on how to create a casual tablescape for the holidays!

Tip # 1 - Use a tablecloth! This elevates any table, it doesn’t have to be the right size either. You can use any size and shape — no rules!

Tip # 2 - Place the essentials first! Dinner plate, napkin over the plate and silverware. Keep your bowls and dessert plates off! You eat pie after the turkey 🦃 so make sure guests have enough room at their place setting.

Tip # 3 - Use a low, smaller centerpiece. You want to make sure you can have a conversation with all the table guests including the ones sitting across from you!

Tip # 4 - Make sure your serverware is varying heights and sizes. We grabbed a bunch of our @behome favorites from @thecontainerstore. Yes, I know — I can’t believe they have home accents now too! Various sizes make it easier to see what’s on the table and aesthetically pleasing…don’t forget the serving spoons!

Tip # 5 Lastly, if not the most important tip...it doesn’t have to be perfect. The holidays are a time to enjoy family and friends ♥️

BONUS TIPS: you can make an inexpensive flower arrangement with dried flowers and save it for more holiday tablescape!

Premade Advent Calendar vs. DIY Advent Calendar

Sometimes the juice isn't worth the squeeze when it comes to DIY, the cost outweighs the justification to DIY it or you just don't have the time! We made our own Advent Calendar with the Nereby IKEA Organizers a little late and only did the 12 days leading up to Christmas the first year we made it.

I made the project knowing we would continue to use it year after year. Some premade advent calendars are for one-time use. Like the chocolate advent calendars my sister and I used to get when we were kids, did any other millennials get those when they were kids and resist the urge to eat all 24 chocolates before Santa came?
