I was packing for a client yesterday and she looked at me and simply said “I want that exact look”.

It couldn’t be simpler as the foundation to this outfit is a jean and blouse, but what elevates this simple, comfortable look? It’s the styling of the pieces and the outfit.

Interesting details, no matter the neutral color or category, elevate the outfit and make it look more expensive than it may be. In fact,my sandals and blouse are under $100!!

The pant is a silk/linen blend so it’s perfect for the Spring /Summer and even early Fall. In Miami it’s all year round!

Stylist Tip: using the “Sandwich Method” of matching 2 accessories, here the bag and belt, I have added more dimension and interest to an otherwise very simple black and white outfit!

I would always opt for 2, an everyday like a crossbody for easy walking and traveling and then a smaller nighttime option. Look for neutrals, tan, white, black, but choose a color/s that works with your lighter weight summer wardrobe. Also addd these cute spring shoes to my rotation!!

I promise, you will complete your outfit by having at least one of these bags in your rotation.

I’m loving this new cropped white blouse from @madewell, as it is the right length for any high rise pant or skirt and won’t interfere with your proportions. You could even pair it with a wide leg!

I don’t have a “Travel outfit” per se, it all depends on where I am going and plans when I land. I happen to love these new ponte knit pants. Ponte is a great travel fabric as it stretches, doesn’t wrinkle, and looks fresh upon landing. It looks great with a sneaker, heel, or boot depending on your plans!

How to wear wider cropped flares, and why I like them.

1st - I love the washed black color. Not as harsh as black denim and really looks great with all colors and I particularly like it with cream/beige to bring out the lighter threads in wash.

2nd- It’s a flattering style as it balances out the body’s silhouette.

3rd - It should be hemmed for a high heel to elongate the bottom half or shortened above the ankle to wear with flats and low heels, and you will get more wear from this length.

Stylist Tip: Sneakers aren’t the best option with this style and length as they will look too chunky.

When exploring your personal style, sometimes identifying your signature piece or color is the way to start.

It could be as simple as statement jewelry, a particular color or specific silhouette, and yes, a jean or blazer.

Yay or nay?? I love vintage shopping, but styling vintage pieces to look more current isn’t always easy to accomplish.

Here are some of my quick tips to consider before buying that piece!

Stylist Tips: Try pairing whatever vintage piece you have with denim as it will automatically look more modern and add modern accessories.

Pay close attention to fit, details, proportions, and fabric. You may love a beaded vintage top but when you put it on you may feel like your mother or grandmother, which is usually not the look we are going for, sorry mom. If the piece is worth it you, invest in tailoring!!
