$my last local competition before regionals couldn’t have started any worse ❤️‍🩹🛼 2 days before, i fell during training and hurt my wrist. after an inconclusive x-ray and a ct scan, the good news was — no fracture. but i couldn’t put any weight on it, and the fear of falling on it again threw me off, both physically and mentally. then, on competition day morning, i left at sunrise for the long drive to victorville… and got my first-ever speeding ticket. i felt so stupid for speeding and getting a ticket, and i cried the entire way there. it just felt like the final straw. i didn’t feel ready. i felt overwhelmed. but all I could do is show up and trust that my training would be enough to get me through this. my first event was the open creative duet 13+ with my tomb raider-in-crime, crystal. the floor felt slippery, and there were a few stumbles — but we also had some really strong, in-synch moments. we skated through it together like survivors. we placed 4th out of 6. not perfect, but we didn’t give up. 🏅🫶🏻 then it was time for my open b creative solo as marie antoinette. i made a choice to leave everything - my stress, nerves, worries - on the floor and trust that my body knew what to do. i didn’t expect anything, i just wanted to skate and perform with my whole heart. and somehow… i got 1st place out of 13 🥇 this competition reminded me that strength doesn’t always look clean or effortless. sometimes it’s shaky confidence, messy emotions, and still choosing to move forward. regionals, I’m coming for you next 🏆💖 #LTKActive #LTKSeasonal$

skating through heartbreak 💔 come with me to my second competition of the season, but the first time I’m competing in the category freestyle this season. This category - classic ladies inline freestyle - has nothing to do with freestyling, and focuses on more technical elements like spins & jumps.

aside from the more difficult elements, I wanted to work on skating with more emotion - expressing my feelings through movement has always helped me process whatever I was going through. And what stronger emotion is there to skate to than heartbreak? not just for myself, but for everyone who has ever felt like they had to say goodbye to someone they loved. this time around, there were no characters, no costumes - just me, my skates, and the story i wanted to tell. ✨

Even though this routine wasn’t perfect, I felt really proud after my skate. i landed both my axels and my double toe attempt on one foot, and got my highest score ever in this category. i didn’t push my emotions away, and i let them move through me. i have a long way to go, but this season, i’m learning to skate with more honesty. less pressure. more heart. ♥️🩰🛼💫

being able to ice skate under the warm LA sun is truly magical 🌞⛸️❄️✨ as an ice skater, i always struggled with the freezing temperatures of the rink, which is one of the reasons why i do love inline & roller skating. being able to ice skate and not freeze, now that the outdoor rinks in LA are open is such a blessing! 🥺🤍
