DIY Ikea built-ins:

We used:
3 IKEA Havsta cabinets for lowers,
a 3/4” finished plywood top,
and 3 standard Billy bookcases (cut down to fit our 8ft ceilings).

Next we secured the pieces to one another, anchored the shelves to studs in the wall, and trimmed everything out using a 1x6 header (+ crown molding) and 1-1/2” primed pine lattice molding.

Now we’re filling holes with DAP wood filler and caulking all the seams! Don’t skip this step- this is the detailing that makes IKEA look $$$!
I’m using a 220 grit sand sponge before applying my favorite Zinsser primer.
