It’s amazing what a new rug and front door paint color can do to transform a space! My entryway has been blah since we moved in and needed a little extra help. Now I’m loving how welcoming it feels. It’s like a warm hug. 🤗

(Honestly? If you look hard enough, the door needs another coat of paint and we still need to paint the walls but I’m glad I didn’t let perfectionism ruin my momentum!)

What a difference a new rug makes! My kids hated sitting (or walking barefoot) on the floor because the old rug was made of natural fibers that were bumpy and scratchy. This huge, soft switcharoo was budget priced and brightened up the whole space. Now my kids will sprawl all over it while reading, playing games or getting way too much screen time obvs. 🤪

It always amazes me how changing one thing up can make such a big difference in not only how a space looks but also how it feels and functions. Swipe to see the BEFORE and you’ll see what I mean!

Welp, I finally hung the linen-like curtains that have been siting the corner of our master bedroom since January 🙈 and I can’t believe this small change has made such a HUGE difference. Perfectionism kept waiting me waiting on this project because I needed to chose a paint color and the *perfect* wallpaper, which means a new duvet cover and art and mirror, and suddenly I was spiraling and suffering design paralysis and didn’t do anything to the space at all.

Fast forward to this weekend when we’re all at home and I kept tripping over all my unfinished projects. ENOUGH. Having the perfect space no longer matters. Now, making the most of what you have does.

In other words, I hung the darn curtains. The paint and wallpaper can wait. This alone was such an improvement we’re happily soaking up the light and breezy vibe and it feels like a whole new space.

What small projects are you doing that will add happiness to your space? Which ones can you start now to add a layer of comfort to our time at home?

Not gonna lie. Every time I walk into my office my hearts skips a beat. 💕 And I mean that literally, my heart legit flutters to the point where I wondered if I have a rug-induced heart condition.😍

Needless to say, I chickened out on the rug choice and went for the most neutral pattern and colorway but I’m loving it. If I decide to go bolder I’ll move this rug to another room, but I’m going to take the flutters as a sign that this rug was meant to be here and not that my heart murmur is acting up. 🤪

Next stop: PAINT. And a small loveseat and art for the wall. Sloooooowly but surely is how I roll. So let me have it— yay or nay on the rug? Do you forgive me for not going bolder? 🙈
