Lake Como: Bellagio Decoded

Gardens of Villa Melzi also known as Giardini di Villa Melzi located at Lungo Lario Manzoni, 22021 Bellagio CO, Italy. You can drive there and you’ll find plenty of parking in the off season. I went in October but didn’t drive because there was a race that day and you had to leave by 3 PM otherwise the streets would be close, so I highly advise that you check in with your hotel concierge before going. They always know what is happening each day.

On our way there, we took the speed boat that leaves form Como City Center and gets you to Bellagio in about 45 min. On the way back, we took the longer ride to take all the scenery in one last time. It took about 2 hours. The difference in price is 4 Euros so if you are on a time crunch, take the speed boat. The gardens are a 15-minute walk from the pier, and you walk across the promenade, shops and restaurants with water view. Once you arrive, you’ll enter into a wonderful botanical garden with lakeside paths. It’s the perfect combination of architecture and natural beauty.
