Table Tip for A Kid Friendly Snack Board!

My girls are 4 and 2 & probably the pickiest eaters alive! The only way I can get them to try new foods is by creating a beautiful snack board. If you have picky eaters like mine, try my Kid Friendly Snack Board idea and follow my tips below!
•
1️⃣ Make it colorful
- I stayed on theme❤️🤍💙
2️⃣ Include foods they really like
- yes, they ate the marshmallows first, but that’s ok, you’re building trust!
3️⃣ Use a cookie cutter to cut fun shapes in the food 🍉⭐️PB&J⭐️
4️⃣ Have dips next to the vegetables
- model this for them
5️⃣ Be honest with what’s on the board & talk about it!
- When my oldest was little, she thought anything red would be sweet like watermelon! I used to not tell her what was on our boards in fear she wouldn’t try anything. She tried a red pepper once (thinking it was 🍉)spit it out, & I lost her trust🤦🏻‍♀️
•💡☝🏼more I forgot to add!
6️⃣ Be patient🙌🏻... takes a lot for our tots to build up the courage to try something new. I’ve had to learn to NOT say, “just try it/ have a bite of this/ taste this/ you’ll love it, trust me...” 🙅🏻‍♀️ The pressure to try that “something” turns them off and your gorgeous Snack Board will lose its luster!

Table Talk Tuesday!
Four tips I learned from the @tidymom to make cut hydrangeas look fresh and last longer!
* Cut the hydrangea stem at an angle and remove all the leaves from the stem.
* Fill the vase with room temperature water
* Add a 1/4 c sugar and a couple pumps of hand soap (the hand soap reduces bacteria build up).
* Change out the water every few days or so & add a pump of hand soap too.

These tips really work and my hydrangeas stayed pretty for 3 weeks! Once a week, I would repeat the steps above, take each hydrangea stem out, and trim the cut stem at an angle!

✌🏼 ways I’ve set a Citrus Inspired Tablescape for Summer using the Lucy Grymes Fruit Grove & Gingham Paper Placemats!

1️⃣ Created a citrusy 🍊🍋🍑 centerpiece that complimented the placemats! Went to my go-to Trader Joe’s for the greenery, berries, and the fruit! I didn’t want to cut all the fruit in half for this centerpiece…I think leaving some whole and some cut really balanced out the bright pops of color. I also wanted my “centerpiece” to be vibrant from end to end, so my place settings at the end of table felt just as pretty as the ones in the middle!

2️⃣ Used the Fruit Grove Paper Placemats as my table runner this time and the Gingham Paper Chargers on top of my rattan placemats! I didn’t have any fresh florals on hand, so to add some dimension, I let the Coral Estelle Glasses be my centerpiece 😉! Oh, and these gorgeous peach scalloped napkins by @fenwickandfields are just the 🍒 on top of you ask me!

Easy Napkin Ring tip… use some of your Holiday Ribbon to tie a bow around your napkin 🎀 The wired edged ribbon is the easiest to make a pretty bow in my opinion! I set this table for more of a Holiday table🎅🏼 but the napkin ring can be changed out easy for Thanksgiving. I’d also add some small white pumpkins to the centerpiece 🎃!
