Is your mascara expired? 👁️

Your mascara expires between 3 - 6 months (cleaner brands don’t have preservatives so I replace mine between 3-4 months).

Here’s what I do so that I never forget to replace it:
✨Order round half-inch labels and stick on the underside of your mascara.
✨Then take a sharpie and write the date between 3-6 months out on the bottom so you remember when to replace it.

We tend to forget that the shelf life for eye makeup is limited, so extended use can increase the risk of eye infections due to bacterial growth.

Here’s to having long, lush lashes and happy and healthy eyes! 🥰

Here’s How to Layer Your Jewelry Like an Editor…The most important thing to remember when creating a stacked look is for it to be uneven when it comes to your rings, earrings and bracelets. So 2 or 3 rings in one hand, and one in the other. For the necklaces, they just need to be staggered at different lengths.
Jewelry Layering 101
✨Necklaces: Textures can be blended and mixed. Look for chains from dainty looks to chunky links. Braided, cable, herringbone all work together beautifully. It looks best to stagger necklaces and wear them at different lengths.
✨ Bracelets: For thicker pieces, stacks of three to five look the best (I always stack in uneven number). If you’re going with thinner pieces, stack it up! A good rule of thumb is not to cover more than ⅓ of your forearm. Place snugger pieces or your watch at the base of your wrist, near your hand, to help keep wider bracelets or bangles in place behind them.
✨Earrings: I love wearing huggies in varying sizes and styles like small diamond hoops mixed and finishing with a single diamond stud. Multiple piercings make it easier to showcase a stacked look! There are ways to fake it with cuffs and earrings that have flared settings too.
✨Rings: You can stack rings next to each other or on top of each other as long as one of them is a simple style. Be sure to balance it all out with your bracelets—so if you are wearing 3 rings on one hand, wear just one on the other (hand with the bigger stack). Pay attention to the textures of each piece.

My Trick to Retouch Beach Waves with a Hair Dryer and Brush! 😊

✨Here’s a trick I learned way back when I was living as an editor in NYC and had to quickly refresh my “hairdo.” You will need a good hair dryer, round brush and some lightweight hair or texturizing spray.
1. Use small sections of your hair and wrap around the brush.
2. Keep twirling outward
3. Point the dryer over the twirled hair until warm to set and keep the shape.
4. Keep twisting out as you pull the brush out and go in for the next section. Do not touch until finished.
5. Let it set in place.
6. Run fingers through hair—do not brush. You can crunch it too for added body.
7. Spray with hairspray or texturizing spray to hold and add some volume.

✨Now you have added some new life to your existing blow dry. Try this method and lmk how you like the results! 🥰

Glamorous Glow Makeup Tips!

✨Use a tinted moisturizer for sheer coverage & glowing finish (this one has spf)!
✨Always use a concealer that matches your skin tone under the eye to cover discoloration & OVER the eye lid to create a primer for eye shadow.
✨Eyeliner should be gel pencil or liquid in brown or black.
✨The bottom liner should never go in the water line—makes the eyes look smaller.
✨Do not line the entire upper lid…start half way, wing it & smudge out with your finger.
✨Use an eye palette with shades that can be used day to night. Darker shade goes in outer corner & glitter on the brow bone for glam look.
✨ Use several coats of a thickening & lengthening mascara. Don’t go overboard bc dragon lady lashes are not a cute look!
✨Brows should be clearly defined. You can fake a thicker brow by adding pencil to the top part of brow.
✨Use a blush that offers a glowing finish—this is my go-to bc the shade of pink is perfection.
✨Using a highlighter will elevate your makeup game. Apply upward starting at your cheek bones. Add brightness to inner corner of eyes!
✨Use a cover stick pencil to brighten anywhere and blur marionette lines.
✨ Lip liner should be one shade darker than your lip color to define not line. Fill with a natural lipstick and gloss to off-set smokey eyes.
