I have gone from capturing many beautiful still photos (probably too many if my phone had a vote) to rarely capturing anything anymore unless it’s for a partnership or to share something new. It makes me sad honestly so I’m posting this happy view of our den because well, it makes ME happy to look at it. #farmhousedialfano

DIY Panel Door Reveal! ✨ So what do you do when you have an outdated louvered closet door, are updating the room it’s in, but don’t feel like getting a new door? Panel it!

I used @ekenamillwork fluted urethane panels (that I originally saw in my friend @jennasuedesign home & actually had intended to use in our kitchen!) and liquid nails to cover up those dreaded slats, added a new knob, and what a transformation!

I did this without fancy tools, using a utility knife to cut, so I would consider it a very easy DIY. Would it be easier and give you straighter lines with a table saw? Absolutely. Would this be even better if I had sanded the door down, and filled in some blemishes on the door & moulding? You bet. But this is a temporary design choice and I’m totally fine with it not being perfect. I may however add some trim so the uneven edges aren’t as pronounced So what do you think?!

Ceiling is painted! It’s hard to explain but it’s both noticeable…and not. But I love love love it. Check out stories + Den 3 highlight to see it coming together and for my thoughts on painting the ceiling of a room with lower ceilings! Oh also, I decided to cover the majority of the room with a 9 x 12’ @loloirugs Layla rug in Olive/Charcoal while figuring out the carpet underneath and the room feels infinitely bigger. Room’s really coming together don’t you think?! #farmhousedialfano

The mini Den reveal is here! If you’ve been following in stories, it’s seen some DRASTIC changes culminating with this gorgeous paint color (@benjaminmoore Nantucket Gray) this week. This is really just a peek at a few areas + the room is not done…there’s flooring, seating, closet door project (zoom in on pic 4 to get a hint of what), more thought out decorating, window treatments, and ceiling paint to focus on (and after seeing these pics, I think I’m confident in painting it the same as the walls). But it went from a poorly constructed add-on to probably my favorite room in the house and it makes me extraordinarily happy.

A clean slate in the true sense of the meaning! I’ve been getting the den in order…the fireplace + wall paneling weren’t in until right before the holidays so this is all new for me! Some notes/thoughts…

I added seeded eucalyptus to the mantel because I’m not ready to say goodbye to greenery. 🌿

I still need to style and hang art over here, and decide whether to re-paint the walls a richer color and/or color for the moulding, whether to get a matching @luluandgeorgia swivel chair or keep it mismatched (the latter feels more “me” but don’t necessarily love this one), and lastly whether to hang the mirror. The ceilings are low but the mantel is also low so might need to raise for some height. ✨

Introducing…our den! Well a wall at least 😂 While our paneling was going in we opted to remove a too large + too unattractive wood burning stove and it immediately opened up + transformed the space.✨

The ceilings are low and the room smallish so I opted for a narrower crown moulding. The plan is to continue @clarepaint Classic on the rest of the walls/trim/doors and possibly the ceiling too!

To help round out the room, we’re going to add an electric fireplace + mantle and while the sconce location is a bit off (they should be closer together over the fireplace), I’m making it work! And just in time for stockings!?

Last up is figuring out the flooring…the current tile/carpet combo is old + yuck but this room is on a cement slab so options are somewhat limited.
