It’s no secret we’ve been slow to furnish our home. 26 months in and we still can’t decide on whether to turn our formal dining room into a second living room 😅

To say we’re taking our time with this house would be an understatement. But winters in Chicago are gross. We needed a front door mat 26 months ago…

And after ordering and returning no less than 12 mats, I’ve finally found the right one for our front door 🙌🏻

Does this mat deserve its own reel? Will most people care? Probably not. But it’s been such an unending saga and I’m so madly in love with the mat we got, how could I not share it?

It’s no secret we’ve been slow to furnish our house. We went from an 1,100 sq ft apartment downtown to a house more than triple that size the same month Owen was born! And while I could have just furnished it quickly I wanted to truly find the right things for our space. That said, with baby #2 on the way, I didn’t want to spend a lot furnishing our outdoor spaces this summer. But having an empty front porch was getting quite sad. So we budgeted $600 and here’s what I came up with. While the space certainly need more (upgrades I’ll work on next summer), I’m happy with how happy and cozy this cold corner has become! What do you think? I think my next moves are a rug and possibly twinkle lights or an organic sculpture?
