Bought & Loved

By mushroomstew

My monthly bought & loved favorites.

Time for some brutal honesty: It’s been a rough month so please pretend the dust on my mirror is a festive sprinkling of snow, mmmmk? Now that we’ve settled that, here is my bought & loved from November!

Balaclava $10 — the perfect winter accessory to throw on when I don’t want a hat to flatten my hair!

Hoodie Set $22 — this men’s set is as perfect as the price. It’s comfortable, washes well, and the green color is perfect for the festive season 🌲

Furry Slippers $20 — love these slippers. They’re giving Hermes vibes without the bank-breaking price and the open-toe design keeps my feet from overheating 👌🏻

Sweater Dress $55 — a great knit dress for the upcoming holiday season. You probably already spied me wearing this in my holiday reel last week.

Clean Mascara $32 — I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect “healthy” mascara for AGES. This one has insanely great ingredients which encourage lash growth but the formula works beautifully with no smudging!

What I Bought & Loved in October 2024

Hoodie Dress ($21 — normally $36) I bought this dress on a whim for our witches night with @ablealchemy and ended up wearing it to several Halloween events this month. Comfortable and spooky without being too costume-y.

Waffle Coatigan ($20) I love a good brown cardigan for fall and this easy, waffle coatigan goes as easily with my pjs as it does with boots & jeans 👍🏻

Square Neck Top ($11 — normally $20) I snagged this great basic during prime days and have worn it nonstop since. It may not be the most glamorous thing I’ve shared but it’s quickly becoming one of my most-worn!

Double Lariat Necklace ($136) I can’t say enough good things about this necklace. It’s absolutely stunning in-person and makes a coordinated, layered look so easy being a double in one!

Rechargeable Red Book Light ($13) I try to read on my kindle, I really do. But there will always be something about a paper book for me that I’ll love. This little light has helped save my eyes at night when I read after the kids go to bed and the red light is particularly helpful at not disrupting my circadian rhythm. So much healthier than scrolling on my phone before bed too!

What I Bought & Loved in September 2024

Silver Dress ($125) — a gorgeous Etsy find that I plan on using for a potential Halloween costume and as a holiday dress this Christmas 👌🏻

Cauldron Mug ($22) — I randomly bought this mug not realizing the joy it would bring me. Love drinking my collagen coffee “potion” every morning 🔮

Moon Chain Belt ($12) — another random buy I got for a potential Halloween costume that I’ve actually been wearing with a lot of outfits recently. Surprisingly versatile and not too gaudy.

Leopard Jeans ($34) — such a great & flattering pair of printed denim for fall!

Plaid Shacket ($35) — I was inspired by my girlfriend Kat to get one of these for fall outings with the kids. It’s an easy, throw-on piece for play dates and hikes 🍂

What I bought & loved in August 2024

Silver Pleat Dress ($190) — I’ve eyed @georgiahardinge dresses for ages and during their sample sale last month I couldn’t resist the urge to order this dress for my birthday. It’s truly one of the most stunning dresses I’ve ever owned and I love that the elastic waist makes it one of the most comfortable too.

Lip Gloss ($24) — the most flattering pigmented lip gloss! And so many great options for all skin tones!

Kimono ($78) — such a romantic yet easy piece to throw on when you want a light layer. I agree with some of the reviews that the fabric is thin but I’m so glad I ordered it. The drape is so beautiful and flattering and I can’t find any less expensive options like it!

Flared Sweatpants ($22) — if you can snag these sweatpants on sale, DO IT! They’re so comfortable and slimming for a sweatpant. My only issue is how hard it is to reduce wrinkles (I steamed these right before shooting this reel 🤯) but I plan on wearing these at home mostly so it’s not a deal-breaker, especially for the price.

What I Bought & Loved in July 2024

Serum Concealer ($26) — this is my first serum concealer and I’m obsessed. @emilymorrow recommended this formula since it’s buildable and doesn’t contain any pore-clogging ingredients. It’s so easy to blend and covers my dark circles really well.

Star Pjs ($72) — @laurynbosstick recommended @masongreyla for toddler pjs so I bought Owen this star set in May. The fabric is so soft and he looked so cute in it I ended up buying Hugh and I a matching pair each too 😂🤩

Linen Pants ($24) — these are on flash sale today! Such a great pair of linen palazzo pants that aren’t TOO wide and don’t wrinkle very easily. Love that they feel dressy but appropriate for running after the kids on the playground in too.

Hand Chain ($7) — I’ve been eyeing a Logan Hollowell hand chain for forever but $3k feels like such a splurge for a trendier piece of jewelry. So I found this simple version on Amazon for less than $10 and have yet to take it off 👌🏻

Tennis Dress ($40) — this little workout dress has been a lifesaver. The shorts and built-in bra make it the easiest thing to grab when I’m rushing the kids out the door and I love all the different color options!

What I bought & loved in May 2024

Skims Leggings ($66) — I’ve been investing in a lot of Skims pieces this post-partum. They’re classic, flattering and will still fit great as my body continues to evolve these next few months. But these stretchy leggings may be my favorite find! They’re so comfortable yet flattering. The perfect support coupled with stretch!

Crochet Skirt ($28) — a surprisingly high-quality cover-up I’ll be wearing to the beach and pool non-stop this summer ☀️

Ribbed Workout Set ($35) — this set is too good for the price. Great support and thickness! And very flattering for postpartum Mamas ❤️

Organic Nursing Dress & Top (c/o $100) — I adore every piece Of An Origin makes for nursing Mamas but this stretchy dress is by-far my favorite. When their team sent me this red I was hesitant at first being such a neutral girl but I’ve worn this set nonstop. It’s so gorgeous in-person and love that it’s from a local company!

Suede Bag ($35) — this bag gives me gorgeous The Row vibes without the four-figure price tag. The large size fits all my essentials and the material is surprisingly luxurious!

What I bought & loved in April 2024:

Nude Kimono ($30) — an easy cover-up for days when you just barely need a coat. And way comfier than even a denim jacket.

Linen Pants ($21) — as much as I wish I fit into my pre pregnancy wardrobe right now, I just don’t. And that’s okay. I treated myself to these easy comfy pants that come in tons of colors and will be easy to wear once I’m back to my usual size too.

Lawless Overnight Lip Mask ($22) — I know I share a lot of lip products but this one has become my OG. “Forget the filler” plumping and the watermelon is the perfect shade of pink. My only caveat is it’s too pretty to just wear overnight.

Used AGOLDE Riley Jeans ($62) — I’m doing my best to invest in used and vintage pieces these days, not just because it’s earth month but also because you can snag really great deals on closet staples. I was missing my pre pregnancy Riley’s (if you haven’t tried this jean, be forewarned, you’ll never want a different pair) so I bought a barely used pair for 1/3 the price. Similar used pairs are linked!

Skims Tee ($56) — my gf wore this shirt last time we hung out and I could not get over how perfect it was. Perfect stretch, perfect weight, perfect length, perfect neutral color? Sold 🤍

What I Bought & Loved in March 2024

Flare Mini Dress ($40) — a “sporty, sexy but still acceptable for daily wear” kinda-dress. Love how stretchy this one is because my postpartum body is changing by the minute 👌🏻

Wide Mule Sandals ($35) — my gf Natalie got me into Target heels and these sandals come in wide-sizes! Perfect for feet that just aren’t the same after 🤰🏼

Sephora Red Lip Stain ($15) — Jenna Lyon’s favorite red lip doesn’t disappoint. I’ve been searching for a great red for two years since Stila discontinued my old favorite and will def be wearing this one nonstop now 💋

Y2K Sunglasses ($5) — I hate to invest too much in trends so when I found these throwback Sunnies for $5, I couldn’t say no. Surprisingly effective at sun protection too!

13” Vase ($50) — finally found the right vase to switch out my old one on our kitchen island. Love the greenery I found at Park & Oak for it too 🤍

This month has been complicated. While I’m feeling positive and healthy most days, 80% of my closet still doesn’t fit (or fit comfortably). I found myself needing to invest in a few more pieces than I’d planned on simply to prevent myself from wearing black leggings EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Any other postpartum Mamas in the same place? So here are the pieces I invested in this month and adore…

What I Bought & Loved January 2024

Wide-Calf Boots ($100). I’ve always had bigger calves but pregnancy has really done a number on them. I haven’t worn knee-high boots since the winter before I got pregnant with Owen in 2020… these were a splurge (even on mega sale) but worth every penny. They’re a great neutral staple I’ll be able to wear even once my calves slim back down again too.

Marled Jogger Set ($75). Eco-friendly, soft as h***, and immensely flattering. Dozens of you have already gone and bought this set after I posted it earlier this month and are as obsessed as I am. I’m already debating a second one since I wear this at least twice a week already.

Mom Era Hat ($30). We’re all in our eras right now and I’m in my Mom Era 🫶🏻

French Terry Nursing Dress ($50). This is a cheat because I bought one in December and LIVED in it nonstop. It’s from the same brand my jogger set is and the material is just as gorgeous and flattering. So I bought a second one to sleep & run errands in. Is that efficiency or peak laziness? I really don’t care.

Sherpa Slippers ($25). I live in slippers these cold postpartum days and am loving the memory foam in these particularly!

What I Bought & Loved in September 2023:

Anine Bing Coat ($235). Last winter I lusted over this gorgeous wool wrap coat. I saw it on all my favorite influencers but just could not swallow the $600 price tag. So when I saw one new “with tags” on The Real Real three weeks ago for almost 70% off, I couldn’t pass it up. Love that the generous cut will fit me through this pregnancy and long after.

Of An Origin Maternity & Nursing Blouse (c/o $46). This cardigan/blouse/crop is easily the cleverest maternity & beyond piece ever created. The silver buttons give you tons of ways to wear it and the organic cotton finish means it’s completely nontoxic. A multitasking piece that’s 4-in-1? Genius. And budget-friendly.

Cymbiotika Super Greens ($78). I’ve usually been able to find 20% coupons for this squeeze supplement and cannot recommend it enough. I’ve taken it the last month to help up my nutrient-intake now that I’m in the third trimester. I love how easy it is to grab a pack to-go and the lime flavor makes this the easiest way to add healthy greens (and slimming chlorophyll) to your diet.

Dissh Black Knit Dress ($190). I’ve been eyeing this dress all summer and should have taken the plunge sooner. The thick knit is luxurious and flattering without overheating. And the cutouts in front make it unique and sexy, even pregnant 👌🏻

Slim iWatch Band ($11). My friend Katie finally convinced me to part with my ugly old Apple band for something slimmer and more elevated. The magnetic closure is easy to use and love that this makes my watch less obvious in photos too. My only issue has been the metal can catch on knitwear so I’m careful whenever I’m wearing sweaters.

What I bought and loved in August 2023:

Amazon Ribbed Dress ($30). This non-maternity dress is so easy and flattering. It comes in tons of colors and is a great steal if you can get it on lightening deal like it is today!

Aritzia Trench Robe ($198). This drapey trench robe is the ultimate fall wardrobe staple. It’s not too hot or too cold and instantly makes any outfit look pulled together.

Face Foundrie Collagen Spritz ($48). I bought this after my first @ facial and have been obsessed since. A little spritz goes a long way and I love that it gives my make up a refresh while caring for my skin.

Afloral Fall Branches ($42 per stem). I invested in some @ green branches in spring and loved them so much I bought these for the fall and winter months. They’re incredibly realistic! I was able to snag mine on sale so keep a lookout — pricey but worth the investment.

Flying Cow Tallow Baby Moon Belly Balm ($35). This isn’t a new purchase, I used this almost exclusively when I was pregnant with Owen. And now that I’m in my third trimester I’m using it daily for baby #2 too. I swear this stuff prevented stretch marks in my first pregnancy. And it just smells so damn good. My #1 pregnancy essential.

Now that I don’t have to hide my baby bump anymore, I’m excited to try and bring back this series as a monthly round-up instead of seasonal. What do you think?

This month is particularly good! Absolutely nothing I’m sharing is maternity but all 🤰🏼friendly!

What I bought & loved in July 2023:

- Tiger Print Dress ($24). I cannot say enough good things about this dress. It’s stretchy but supportive. BEYOND flattering. And was the perfect thing to wear to @beyonce two weeks ago!
- The Drop Sweater Set ($88). I got this sweater set on Prime Day for $62. I’m already in love. I bought up a few sizes and plan to wear it through my pregnancy and postpartum. It’s soft and the print will be great for hiding stains when baby #2 comes 😜
- Apple Watch Ankle Band ($11). I got this idea from History in High Heels since I’m often taking walks with the stroller and not feeling like my watch is accurately measuring my steps. I earned them, after all! So far this has been great and works well for those of you with walking desk pads too!
- Fall Stripe Sweater ($37 but 30% off coupon). This sweater has me craving crispy fall days already. The stripes and neutral color are perfect for so many outfits. And while it’s too hot to eat any sweaters right now, it looks damn good draped over my shoulders with a tank dress too 💪🏻
- Seed to Skin Dew Mask c/o ($141). I have been obsessed with Seed to Skin for nearly four years now. This is by far the most luxurious, completely clean beauty brand you’ll find. Made with ingredients grown right on their Tuscan property. So naturally I was over-the-moon when they sent me this Dew Mask to try during my pregnancy. The consistency is luxurious and moisturizing without being sticky. And I can’t wait to use it into fall as my skin gets drier from weather and third trimester hormones 🤍🫠

What I Bought & Loved in Spring 2023 (Part Two):

Zara Tulle Cover-Up ($55, on sale for $30). I grabbed this beautiful, drapey tulle cover-up during the Zara summer sale. I love that it’s an easy, bump-friendly way to upgrade any outfit for evenings. I can’t wait to wear this out for a dinner date with the girls! And hopefully I’ll be able to use this for a fun maternity shoot this fall too 🤍
Amazon Cutout Dress ($27). A no maternity maxi that’s perfect for summer. I love the shoulder pads, the side cutouts and the twisted front. And that the design means my bump can grow with it for a few more months.
Amazon Cargo Pants ($33). @itsamandaroe sold me on these easy cargo pants and I have no regrets. They’re so cozy but pulled together and somehow seem to make my 2nd trimester bump just disappear!
Happy B Boutique Tee ($20). My good friend @katiebengson makes these tees for her Etsy shop and any RHOBH fans will recognize my “Carcass Out” tee 🍋. She customizes the most amazing @bravotv and holiday shirts — I love all my pieces from her shop and will especially be living in this tee all summer long!
Agent Nateur Holi(radiance) ($55). An amazing beauty supplement. I’ve been using this @agentnateur supplement in my morning coffee for the last month and have absolutely noticed an improvement in my skin tone and texture. Can’t wait to see how this continues to improve my skin in the coming months!

My favorite spring 2023 finds!

#LTKFind #LTKSeasonal #LTKbump
What I bought & loved in March 2023:

1. Amazon Long Cardigan ($46). Several Instagrammers have and recommend this cardigan so I finally caved when I saw it on lightening deal last week (I actually snagged mine for $35). I love the weight of the knit — it’s chunky without being bulky and would be great as a house cardigan or a spring cover-up. My only complaint is how hard the wrinkles are to get out! I steamed this cardigan twice before shooting this video. Maybe I’ll try ironing it?

2. Summer Fridays Cherry Butter Balm ($24). I’ve searched for a clean, tinted balm for a long time. This gorgeous new cherry balm is a beautiful pop of color on my pale skin and very moisturizing.

3. Adidas Sport Slide ($55). Last summer I wore a white pair of Birkenstocks to DEATH and have been searching for a replacement for a while. When I saw these men’s slides I couldn’t get them out of my head. Maybe it’s the textural almost sculptural element but I love how unique these are. Even if Hubby calls them my Minecraft slides…

4. Lounge Sweater Set ($51). I have zero need for another sweater set but instantly fell for this one when I saw it. It took weeks to arrive (I actually ordered it in February) but was worth the wait. The material is very flattering and slimming and I love the slight flare in the pants.

5. Faux Budding Branches ($28 Each). I’ve tried so many times to keep flowering branches alive. I love how they look but they always seem to die on me within a week. Being unwilling to keep throwing away money on the real deal, I finally cracked and tried these faux branches. And they are GORGEOUS! Very realistic looking and unlikely to die on me anytime soon 😘😉

#LTKSeasonal #LTKunder50 #LTKxadidas
What I bought & loved in February 2023:

1. Anna Quan Blouse (Used $40). I’ve eyed Anna Quan pieces for quite some time now and when I saw this beautiful puff-sleeve blouse for $40 on The Real Real I had to order it on a leap of faith. I’ve been searching for a great “dressy yet comfortable” top to go with jeans and dressier pieces for a while. I especially love that it can be worn on or off the shoulder.

2. Amazon Palazzo Pants ($33). With a toddler to run after I spend more time on the floor than I do standing. These pants are just as comfy as leggings but are so much chicer. And they hold up extremely well despite all the crawling I do these days 😂

3. Stanley 30oz Tumbler ($31). I fought against getting a Stanley tumbler for so long. When I finally invested in a 40oz in October I suddenly got the “hype”: they hold up extremely well to abuse (even when a toddler chucks it across the room) and is one of the few tumblers I found that was truly dishwasher safe. But my 40oz has been a little large and heavy to travel with so I invested in this smaller sister tumbler to bring on the go.

4. Silicone Facial Scrubber ($9). Bethenny Frankel raves about these scrubbers for cleaning off make-up and I couldn’t agree more. Such a gentle yet mighty way to clean off make-up while giving my skin a super gentle scrub. I pair mine with my favorite Toups Seabuckthorn Oil cleanser for a perfect clean.

5. Aquatalia Chelsea Boots ($185). The oldest pair of boots in my wardrobe are a used pair of black suede Aquatalia booties. They’ve withstood 10 years of brutal abuse (Chicago winters are NO joke) and thousands of steps. The brand has earned my loyalty so when I started searching for a low-heeled neutral boot this fall, I instantly fell in love with these but just couldn’t justify the original $480 price tag. When these went on super sale on President’s Day I immediately snapped them up and have worn them nonstop since. No regrets! I hope these boots will last me well over a decade just as my last pair have!

What I bought & loved in January 2023:

Fruit of the Loom Men’s Sweat Set ($26). For the price this set exceeded my expectations. It would be embarrassing to admit how much I’ve worn this in the three weeks since I bought it. Washes well and fits nicely considering it’s a men’s set.
Silver Huggies Earrings ($15). Beautiful, inexpensive and don’t irritate my ears at all. Loved them so much I bought them in gold too.
Gold Huggies Earrings ($15).
Sherpa-Lined Puffer Vest ($35). Another surprisingly great men’s Amazon find. Fits great, is so warm and has a longer back which offers more coverage when I’m in leggings 🤍
Metallic Puffer Coat ($40). I snagged this during Uniqlo’s sale and have no regrets. I didn’t specifically need another winter coat but this one feels a little sportier and chicer than my others and I find myself reaching for it almost daily.
X-Large Basket ($40). A great dupe for the far pricier Crate & Barrel baskets. Surprisingly high-quality and very beautiful in person.

What have been some of your favorite finds this month?
