A year ago I finished ACOTAR and have been devouring book after book since. Especially the Romantasy books.

For the previous five years all I’ve read was nonfiction. I read wellness, biographies, history. But not one fiction book in over five years.

I’m so glad I rediscovered my love for fiction through Romantasy. And I’m very excited to talk about Silver Elite at @gabriella.guava’s book club today. So much controversy and such different opinions will make this a fun book to dissect ❤️📖

Ten years of A Court of Thorns & Roses…

I only first read this book a year ago (at @theemraedit’s insistence) but it caused a domino effect in my life I still haven’t managed to get control of. I’ve always been a big reader but for 5 years before ACOTAR, I only read nonfiction. This book completely changed that. Now I’m reading 7+ fantasy books a month 😅

But what I love about celebrating this book today is that it was published ten years ago. Ten years and this book is bigger than ever. Sometimes success takes time and I’ll always be inspired by that 🤍

Considering I only started reading Romantasy mid-May, I’d say I’m low-key obsessed. All thanks to my sister @theemraedit 😂 Not to mention that I’m missing a few books from this stack since I’ve been lending them out 🙃

My absolute favorites have been the Court of Thorns & Roses series, the Plated Prisoner series, and the Throne of Glass series (I’m less than 100 pages from the end of Kingdom of Ash and am not ready for it to be over!).

What books/genres did you read this year that surprised you? I plan on starting Fourth Wing this week!

There is nothing like the ache of finishing a good book series. Especially a good romantasy! @ravenkennedy you’ve outdone yourself with you Plated Prisoner series. My heart wept, bled and soared and it’ll take a long time to recover from such a beautiful story.

Have you read any book series lately that have you under their spell? ACOTAR did this to me back in May and I’ve just started Throne of Glass which I suspect will too.

Took three months but I finally finished this opus by @peterattiamd — an excellent overview of ways to protect and prevent against cancer, metabolic dysfunction, cardiac incidents and Alzheimer’s. I do disagree with a few of his suggestions (specifically the recommendations of statins for everyone given their possible link to cognitive disease) but will absolutely be implementing a lot of his recommendations 💪🏻
