Officially sharing my postpartum January uniform 🤍💪🏻 Let’s be real & raw… Postpartum is hard. My body is so different than it was a year ago. None of my old clothing fits. I’m stuck raiding my husbands coat closet for winter gear (thank god oversized coats are IN 😂). It’s hard not to feel like my identity (at least as far as I express it visually) is in a small crisis. I want to feel like myself. And yet the person I see in the mirror is so different. She’s a warrior. I feel that everytime I look at my sons and think “I made you”. But she’s also vulnerable and fresh. This body I’m in looks so different. And dressing this body now is so different from the body I had three years ago before children. Be kind to the postpartum mamas. They’re accepting their new bodies. Appreciating their new (mama) lives. And yet still coming to terms with the fact that accepting and appreciating are a journey. And sometimes it involves a lot of mourning what was. I may never be the size I was pre-baby. And while I wouldn’t ever change that, I’m still coming to terms with it. So here’s my January uniform. It’s comfy, cozy, relatively pulled together and honestly the outfit I feel most like myself in this month. And can we have a moment for this lounge set? I’ve shared it plenty in stories too because I’m obsessed. Makes me feel put together yet cozy at the same time. The perfect postpartum uniform… Mama, mom, mom style, baby
