I refresh our mosquito dunk buckets every 3-4 weeks. Here is what I do when I refresh the buckets:
For each 5 gallon bucket.
1. Pour out half of the current liquid in the bucket.
2. Ads a handful of fresh weeds, leaves, etc.
3. Add 1/2 of a mosquito dunk.
4. Fill the bucket with fresh water until 2/3 full.
5. Put the lid (with pre-drilled holes) back on (if using a lid).
You’re done for another 3-4 weeks!

If your ferns keep turning brown and crispy… do this instead.

I keep my Boston and Kimberly Queen ferns staying lush and green with bright shade, an initial application of a slow release fertilizer, consistent watering and a monthly Epsom salt mix — 1 tablespoon per gallon of water. Trim brown fronds regularly and don’t let them fully dry out during summer heat. 🌿

This little bucket hack can help stop mosquitoes before they even hatch.

Mosquitoes were making our backyard miserable at night, so last year I finally tried the mosquito dunk bucket hack- it worked so good I made three more this year!

I used a 5 gallon bucket with a lid, drilled several holes in the top to help keep kids and pets out, then added water, yard clippings, and a mosquito dunk. Mosquitoes are drawn to the bucket to lay eggs, but the larvae never survive. It’s inexpensive, easy to maintain, and honestly one of the best backyard hacks. I soray painted my lid with a plastic primer them a green color I had on hand to make it blend in with my yard.

DIY SOLAR FOUNTAIN
…wait I have to show you this- I didn’t think this would actually work… but now I’m in love😍 .
