💙 DIY CHINOISERIE ORNAMENTS 💙 You guys loved my chinoiserie pumpkins, so I thought I’d put those same decoupage skills to use and make a handful of chinoiserie ornaments, too! These DIY ornaments are seriously so easy to make, even if you aren’t particularly crafty, and they make an amazing addition to blue and white Christmas decor! Here’s everything you need to make them—

-Round white ornaments of any size (if yours aren’t white, swirl some white acrylic paint inside— that’s what I did with these clear balls from @michaelsstores!)
-Fabric Mod Podge
-Blue and white paper cocktail napkins (I ordered these from @amazonhome)
-Thin sponge brush

✨ HOW TO MAKE THEM ✨

(1) Grab some pretty blue and white paper napkins and cut off any borders. Also remove any extra layers of tissue so that the napkins are only 1-ply thick (for reference, these were 3-ply) and then cut them into thin strips.

(2) Pour some fabric Mod Podge onto a disposable plate and secure your ornament so that it can’t roll around (I used an old wine shipper). Dip a narrow sponge brush in the Mod Podge and paint a light stroke onto the ornament. Position the center of the napkin strip in the center of the ornament and then gently apply pressure to glue and smooth it down. Use the sponge brush to flush out any wrinkles.

(3) Overlapping slightly at the top so that there aren’t any gaps, lay down the next napkin strip, making sure to line it up with the previous strip to create a cohesive pattern.

(4) Continue until you’ve worked your way around the ornament and then cut off any extra tissue on the top and bottom. Dab a generous layer of Mod Podge on each end and use the brush/ your fingers to smooth down the loose ends (the top will be hidden under the cap, and the bottom won’t be super visible, so neither end needs to be neat).

(5) Pop on the cap, give your chinoiserie ornament an hour or so (or more) to dry, and enjoy!!

These Rice Krispie gift boxes make AMAZING little holiday party favors! I decorated mine with pink and white fondant (using a silicone bow fondant mold, fondant ribbon cutter, and edible adhesive) and filled them with Red Hots (although any small candies or holiday sprinkles work)! 🎁

Love the twist front detail on this pink holiday dress! The fabric is so light and comfy, too, and it looks adorable paired with a beige blazer on chillier nights/outdoor holiday parties and winter weddings. Fits TTS, but the material is stretchy, so size down if you’re on the fence (I’m wearing a size small).

🎀 HOW TO MAKE PERFECT VELVET BOWS 🎀 These stacked velvet bows are absolutely gorgeous and look adorable on Christmas wreaths/trees and in holiday hairstyles (just replace the twist tie with a barrette or hair tie)! The French blue velvet ribbon was particularly perfect for our coastal-inspired Christmas kitchen decor this year 💙

Here’s how to make them—

1) Cut 5 pieces of velvet ribbon— 4.5 inch, 8 inch, 11 inch, and two 5 inch for the tails.
(2) Bring both ends of the 11-inch piece to the center and secure with a line of hot glue to create a loop. Repeat with the 8-inch piece.
(3) Hot glue the small loop on top of the large loop and then position the 5-inch pieces in a V-shape underneath to create the tails. Once they’re where you want them, hot glue the tails in place.
(4) Use floral wire to cinch the center of the bow (as tight or loose as you like) and then thread an addition piece of wire (about 6” long) underneath to create a twist tie. If you’re making a velvet bow for your hair, use a hair tie or barrette instead of wire (you won’t be able to thread it underneath, but you’ll secure it in the next step).
(5) Take the last piece of ribbon (4.5-inch piece), draw a line of hot glue in the center longways, and fold in the top and bottom edges of the ribbon (to basically cut it in half). Apply a dab of hot glue on the center of the bow, and then wrap the last piece around to cover the wire and secure the twist tie in place.
(6) Trim the tails of the bow (if you like), fluff out the sides to make it more full, and enjoy your perfect little velvet bows!
