Bah- Bye 2020. I am sure we are all looking forward to lighter brighter days ahead! I am not a huge New Years resolution gal. But I have a big project/goal for 2021 that I am incredibly excited about. I have wanted to add a social cause to Style Your Life for years but I hadn’t been able to find just the right thing that I thought was perfect. Well I am super excited to announce I have found that perfect cause. I am going to be helping women in recovery from mental health issues and addiction. I will be collecting like new and gently used clothing and donating time to teach these women basic styling skills and help them create outfits for work and other important life events. As most of you know how you look affects your self esteem and self esteem effects motivation, confidence, drive, and self worth. I will hopefully be working with other women in the self care community to offer other services. If you know an organization in need or you are interested in helping in some way please reach out to me. As they say it takes a village. You guys this year was the hardest year of my life. I am sure it has been for MANY of us. But in someways it was the best year too. Because I finally got help with my depression and anxiety. I didn’t read one book or see one therapist or any other quick fixes. I went there I opened up my soul and started at the bottom. It has been the very best thing I have ever done for me and my family. I know I always “seemed “ happy but I wasn’t. I had been sad for so long I didn’t know how sad I was!! You get used to depression as it slowly gets worse and worse. I am not “healed” but I have the right meds, therapists, tools and support now and I can TRULY say I am the happiest I have been in at least seven years. I feel lighter and hopeful and I am not waiting something or someone to fix me or make me happy. I am happy because I love me and I am enough. It feels so fing amazing to be happy with yourself. I want to give this gift and feeling to everyone I know. I am not a therapist or mental health professional but if you struggle get help there is sooo much better for I you!! If I can do it any one can! And lovely ladies GIRLS CAN DO ANYTHING!! Even take care of themselves!!! It’s Friday and today is a really big day for me. I have been working very hard on my mental health, personal growth, spirituality & just becoming a better version of me and as of today I am graduating from a 90 day program. I have to say it has been the best and hardest thing I have ever done but so worth it!! Now let’s talks about this look. It’s call a Mullet outfit (business on top, casual on bottom). Perfect for any virtual meeting you have! Adding of fun pop of color around your face it’s always flattering and the shade of my jacket is complimentary on most skin tones.
