I love how I can see the reflection of the dining chandelier in the entryway mirror when we sit at the table. I also love that the insanely off-centered sconces DO NOT both reflect in it because that may ruin every single day for me. Seriously, they taunt me every time I walk by the dining area 😒🤦‍♀️

I’m still here! Just have been spending all free time out in the yard finishing up our big pond project (watch in highlights!) before it gets to be 8381 degrees, although I’m pretty sure we’re already there 🥵 BUT, it dawned on me that I never shared our new coffee table! Don’t get too excited, it’s just the $50 IKEA Lack but we desperately needed something bigger, lighter, and that is 4-yr-old-approved. I love the size and wood tone but of course the quality isn’t amazing, but it’s not gonna kill me if it gets trashed which is kinda 👌right now. How do you like it??

So weird to walk in here and see a toddler bed 🥺 First night with it last night and he did great! He was 20mins shy of making it to his green wake light, but it wasn’t crazy early and he didn’t fall out, so we’ll take it. Fingers crossed he keeps it up, I’m hoping since he’s four it will be a pretty smooth transition (I know, insane we made it that long in the crib lol)

Obsessed with our new coastal grasses-inspired wreath from @novawreaths over our bed! I really struggled with what to put there since we moved in, but knew I wanted something circle and something with an organic touch. @etsy to the rescue as usual when their ad showed Lauren’s beautiful work, and I knew a custom wreath would be perfect. She captured my texture and color requests spot-on and it was super fun to be involved in building it with her. Thank you Lauren!!

We are officially a T-ball family ⚾️ While it makes our schedules even more crazy, it’s all worth it to see these little ones out there trying their best (at baseball, and at focusing on general). It’s the funniest hour ever, and they are adorable in all their little gear. Especially when they all start picking flowers for their moms mid-practice 🥺💙

Are all of you in full re-landscaping mode too after that horrid freeze? There was a lot we wanted to tackle this spring at the new house anyway, so we are replanting for things we lost, making new beds, and adding a pond as quick as we can before the Texas heat creeps in. Our favorite pastime right now is taking a shower, opening a cold one, popping Aleves, and passing out at 9pm 👵🏻😴

The last few weeks have been craziness with a week in Houston to celebrate Connors 4th birthday (!) and Matt’s birthday too, and now we have a week at home together thanks to a Covid scare at the daycare 🤦‍♀️ But, this was the prettiest weekend ever so we spent it getting our yard spruced up and new plants planted. IG hated my first pic of our dining room curtains, so let’s try this again... Curtains in here were for sure the way to go, and I love the subtle pattern of this linen windowpane print. One is about an inch shorter than the other 🤦‍♀️ so as soon as they come back in stock I’m going to try another set, but SUPER happy with them still! Also, let’s pour one out for all the greenery out the window, it was now a sea of dead brown that all got cut today ☠️

Daycare is still closed thanks to the water boil advisory, so it’s back to trying to work from home alongside the kiddo. Thankful the temps are back to the 70s so the patio office can be opened 🌞

Also, downsized his dresser and moved the old one back to the guest room. It’s great to have a little more space in his room and have more storage (for allllll the pillow covers) in the guest room 🙌

One week ago we were moving and covering all the plants and wrapping pipes, not really sure what the next few days would bring. Who ever thought within a week we’d go through a winter disaster and now be on the other side of it in 70 degree sunny weather. Aside from having water only from 8-5 each day, and boiling it, we are good here with just a few plant losses. Cherishing being comfy at home even more now 🙏💙

Curtains for the dining room window get here tomorrow! I found some with a pretty beige windowpane print that I think will work great in this space. I’m still pondering a rug under the table (mainly to help with chair wear on the floors), but want to see how it is with just curtains for a bit then decide. Sneak peeks in stories soon!

We made a pick up order at Ikea last weekend so I’ve got some dresser building in my future, which is perfect for the cold and rainy weekend they’re forecasting ❄️ This dresser will finally move back to the guest room and the new 3-drawer will go here to give us a bit more space in the room. Constantly tinkering with these shelves on the builtins, and happy that the outlets are now gray so when I can’t cover one of them up, they aren’t glaring at me anymore at least. Welp, our two week break is already over...although I’m home this week again sick with a cold (no Covid!) 🤦‍♀️ But luckily I got two of the three rooms painted that I wanted to, got the holiday decor down, and worked on some finishes around the house. I always forget how cozy and luxurious curtains will make a room, especially tall velvet ones across a whole wall 😍 It’s an instant transformation! There’s a few changes I can’t wait to make in our bedroom soon, the main one is to do a lighter more neutral paint color at the end of the month followed by new bedding and hopefully a new rug.
