The key to making your bed look designer-worthy is adding layers and textures! I do this through using a combo of a duvet & velvet quilt as well as a chunky throw blanket & waffle blanket to bring in that texture.

Bed making order:

1. Tuck in sheets. My favorite ones are @bollandbranch Signature set, I have both the white & pewter colors (pewter used here)

2. I use a waffle blanket under the duvet for extra visual interest. This one is also Boll & Branch in pewter!

3. Roll down your duvet two times for a full look. For the extra fluffy look, use two duvet inserts! My fav ones are from Amazon.

4. Use a textured quilt over top of your duvet at the end of the bed. I fold my back three times to enhance the layered look before tucking the rest under the end of the duvet. Top with a chunky blanket! Both of these are affordable finds from Target.

5. Finally, add your decorative pillows in front of your sleeping pillows! Finish the look with 3 Euro size pillows and 2 22”x22” size pillows.

We are counting the days until the pool is warm enough to use every day! When we were looking for furniture to bring into the backyard, we wanted things that would hold up well to the crazy Texas weather as well as fit our overall modern aesthetic.

We had a few patio pieces from years past so we also took that into account when adding new pieces. We do a lot of hosting and entertaining, so having plenty of seating was also super important!
