It is almost Christmas but it looks and feels like Fall in Las Vegas. We went to take these photos at the District and the trees had all changed colors and were so beautiful.

Have you guys heard of Gal Meets Glam dresses? I have been a huge fan of blogger Julia Engel for years and she started her own line of dresses. They are all so beautiful! The one I am wearing is unfortunately sold out but she has a lot of similar ones. Check them out! Have you guys ever made your own cheese? Me either until I tried the Urban Cheese Craft kits! I have always wanted to make my own cheese but it just seemed so overwhelming. Her step-by-step instructions make it so easy to conquer your culinary fears. I ended up making my own mozzarella, ricotta, brie, feta, and chevre and they honestly all turned out great! When we moved, we decided that we didn’t want to have go back to a crib or pack and play so we decided to start Jack in a toddler bed. He is definitely a little bit young (he won’t be two until November) but it was such a good choice! A lot of people think Las Vegas doesn’t have much beauty, and at first glance that is probably true. But it really does have it’s own beauty, especially at night. The desert comes to life at night. I am not talking about Downtown or the Strip although those come to life at night too. Ha ha! Most animals are nocturnal here so if you want to spot them, dusk is when you want to be outside. Skagway is a very small town in Alaska. The main excursion that people go on here is the White Pass and Yukon Route train. It takes you through a beautiful pass that goes up through Canada and back to Skagway. We decided to rent a few cars and do our own version of the tour so that we could stop whenever we wanted to (essential with small kids). On this gorgeous scenic drive we saw tons of beautiful lakes- my favorite was Emerald Lake. We also saw a moose and a mommy bear with her cubs just off of the highway! Our Alaskan cruise post is up today! Our first stop was Juneau, Alaska. When we went to Juneau, we decided that we wanted to see the Mendenhall Glacier. In order to see the actual caves, you need to take a long and dangerous hike there so we decided that it wasn’t a great idea to do with kids. There is a short hike to a waterfall that is near the glacier so that is what we decided to do. I had a really time finding a rug that I liked that fit the color scheme that I was going for. Moss green shades are especially difficult to find in rugs. We found the perfect beach. If you have been to California and have never been to Crescent Beach, you are missing out! We normally go to Huntington or Newport but if you drive just a little bit south to Laguna, there is a more secluded beach with super soft sands that aren’t covered with trash like the larger, more popular beaches. Unfortunately we didn’t bring snorkeling gear, but I hear that there are a lot more fish to see here as well.
