HOW I DID IT 👇🏼

This dresser actually come from my own home! My boyfriend got it during one of his military assignments & it’s survived several moves since. It’s been sitting in our guest room and I finally decided to give it the makeover it always deserved! ✨🥰
When I first started working on it I noticed “piggly squiggles” on it, which are basically marks from a sander if too hard of pressure or too low of a grit was used. So it seems the previous owner attempted to restore it but didn’t do the most high quality job. So here’s how I fixed it! 👇🏼
+ cleaned with krud kutter
+ chipped off old peeling veneer
+ repaired missing veneer with bondo woodfiller
+ sanded using my @surfprepsanding 3x4 electric ray (FURNITUREDR10 for 10% off)
+ sealed wood with oil based polyurethane
+ used furniture painting repair kit to paint bondo to match sealed wood
+ painted the front frame & veneer banding with Ash from fusion mineral paint #diy #LTKDIY #amazonfinds

I got this dresser for $100 on FBMP. It's more than I normally spend on one dresser, but it looked to be in good condition, didn't have any veneer damage and it was mid century modern! I'll always pay a little extra for MCM, hehe. I didn't have a makers mark, but I believe it was by Hooker Furniture. I knew I could flip it pretty fast & easily so I challenged myself to 48 hours

+ scraped with my carbide scraper
+ sanded veneer with 120, 150, 180 & 220 grit
+ sprayed legs with @rustoleum metallic gold spray paint
+ used a lint free cloth to wipe on @minwaxusa oil-based poly

Ta-Da! This furniture flip only took me 36 consecutive hours, 8 of those actively working. I listed it for $799 last night when it was completed and it already got a few hits! That would be a heck of a profit considering I only used supplies I already had. What do you think of this flip?!

The HOW-TO! 👇🏼

Before anyone freaks out, this buffet table was completely laminate & had no doors. It’s not my usual style painted all black - but I’m not upset at how it came out! Plus I got to save something from the landfill.
✨If you want links to every product I used, comment “LINKS” and I’ll DM you the list! ✨

+ cleaned with Krud Kutter
+ scuff sanded the laminate until there was no more shinyness. I used 120 grit throughout with my @surfprepsanding 3x4 electric ray (FURNITUREDR10 gets you 10% off)
+ made repairs to the laminate with Bondo wood filler
+ primed with my new favorite oil based primer. I had it tinted grey since I knew I’d be painting it black!
+ once that dried, I painted it in @valspar Lincoln Cottage Black using a roller
+ made “no-hardware” sliding doors out of leftover plywood & trim I had from previous projects
+ glued, caulked & painted the doors
+ spray painted the plastic hardware it came with with @rustoleum metallic gold

What do you think?! I think this is the perfect buffet. It does also remind me of a desk. This furniture flip took me 24 hours + I’m pretty happy with how it came out. What would you price it for? 👇🏼👇🏼

STEP-BY-STEP! 👇🏼

I’ll preface this with... it’s MY used mattress topper, lol! I’m not sure I would’ve used just anyones used mattress topper for this project - but if you want to, to each their own! Just be sure to sanitize either way :)

+ I drew out the dimensions of the headboard I wanted to make. Originally I wanted 3 straight panels across, but I didn’t have any scrap plywood that would be long enough to do that. So I decided to make a split panel headboard!
+ I cut four 34” x 14” pieces of 1/4” plywood with my @kregjig Rip Cut
+ I used the edge of a pint of paint to draw out rounded edges on one side of either panel. I cut with my @harttoolsusa jig saw!
+ I used fabric scissors I found at an estate sale to cut the foam of the mattress pad into TWO 34” x 14” pieces
+ I then used a steak knife I had at Goodwill to butterfly it in half
+ I bought some very cheap upholstery lining at hobby lobby and used a @harttoolsusa crown stapler to upholster it to the plywood & foam. Pro tip - leave the edges for last!
+ I used a dreamy green velvet fabric I also got from Hobby Lobby, and upholstered that on top of the lining
+ I dry fit the panels together to see how they would look, then flipped back over & screwed on scraps of plywood to secure each panel together. I used random screws I had laying around the house! Nothing longer than 3/4”
+ I decided I wanted my headboard to be 52” in height, so I used plywood (this one I found on the side of the road) and used my miter saw to cut two pieces to size
+ I screwed in these pieces so they would act as legs to elevate the headboard to my desired height
+ I then brought it to its new room & pushed my bedframe against it to secure!

What do you think?!? I think this was a really fun, budget friendly DIY project that elevated the look of my guest room 🙌🏻 Now I can’t wait to add all the decor! 💃🏼

All the products I used to transform these bifold doors! This DIY project was so fun and CHEAP! #LTKDIY

STEP BY STEP

What do you think of this DIY bifold door transformation?! I love the way they came out, especially for the little amount of money I was able to do it for. And yes - you can see through the closet doors. Not ideal - but it's not like the ReStore had options for caning! I still can't believe I was even able to find any, let alone for $7. Anyways... here's how I did it!

+ Removed doors and scuff sanded with 120 grit
+ Used a circular saw (can even use a jig saw or hand saw) to cut the slats of the bifold door in half
+ Manually removed all of the slats which was actually really easy + fast! This left me with just a frame for doors.
+ Painted using Sherwin Williams in Urban Bronze - left over paint from my slat wall project!
+ I found solid wood trim at the ReStore for $1 per 8 foot piece. I cut the trim to size using my circular saw
+ I applied wood glue onto the back of the wood trim and placed it inside of the frames to hide the holes where the slats were. You can also use a brad nailer to reinforce! I was going to just put in wood filler, but I quickly realized how much wood filler that would require and the cost of it... so that option was a no from me!
+ Cut the cane to size, then soaked in warm bath water for a few hours. This allowed the cane to be more pliable & easier to work with. I was lucky to find a massive roll of this open box cane about 4ish months ago at my local ReStore for $7! A find of a lifetime. If you can't find a deal like this and don't want to shell out the $$ for regular cane, you can use fabric!
+ I used an upholstery stapler (you can also use a crown stapler) to attach the cane to the backs of the doors
+ I then flipped the doors back over, painted the trim in Urban Bronze, then painted the cane in Ash by Fusion Mineral Paint to add subtle contrast
+ The hardest part of this project was honestly putting the doors back on the hinges and getting them to open/close correctly!

Let me know what you think! Would you try this on your bifold doors?!?!

I have been dreaming of a DIY wooden slat accent wall for sooooo long but was super intimidated by two things...
1. the price of wood
2. using/paying for a table saw

Soo.... I finally looked up some alternatives and I was able to do it CHEAPER & EASIER than I ever could've imagined! And I did it ALL MYSELF... Like alone!!! Just me!!! Here's how I did it

+ I bought two 4x8' 1/2" birch plywood sheets from the home depot. They were $68 a piece! I had them cut the sheets in half so they would fit in my car (it was still a tight fit). The expensive alternative would've been to buy 8 foot 1x2's or 1x1's, which can range from $3-7 dollars a piece. Now multiply that by 70..... EW
+ I ordered a kreg tool Rip Cut circular saw adapter off of Amazon for $45 the rip cut allows most circular saws to make straight, accurate cuts. This helped me avoid buying a bulky $300 table saw
+ I attached the rip cut to my HART tools circular saw.
+ I also picked up four 2x2 foam insulation panels for $6 a piece at Home Depot. I used these panels underneath the plywood so I wouldn't have to use sawhorses. This also made it way easier to get straight cuts
+ I cut over 70 1" plywood strips, then sanded the edges smooth with 120 grit using my surfprepsanding 3x4 electric ray
+ I used my laser level to help get the first piece on the wall and attached with my HART tools brad nailer using 1 1/4" nails
+ I used a scrap piece of the panel for a spacer, putting it perpendicular to the wall, so each panel was 1/2" apart!
+ I made sure to use a hand level on every panel before nailing it just to make sure it was straight

In total - this project costed me a little over $200! Keep in mind, I already had the circular saw & brad nailer. But, you can always rent those tools or borrow from a friend! Let me know what you think in the comments & stay tuned to see the rest of this guest room makeover :) #competition #LTKDIY #contest

You really want to make money as a furniture flipper?? Get into content creation too! You can obviously see from the video how that was a bulk of where my profit for this piece came from. If you're going to do the work, you might as well film it!

Here's the step-by-step for these cute little nightstands!
+ got these cute little vintage Mersman nightstands from facebook marketplace for $40 total!
+ clean with rustoleum krud kutter & a rag
+ scuff sand with my surfprepsanding 3x4 electric ray. I used 100 grit throughout. Since the tops were laminate, I made sure to scuff until all the shiny-ness was removed!
+ fully sanded the wooden parts of this dresser (legs & drawers) with 120 grit
+ i painted the piece in Andrion by sherwin williams ... the perfect military green color!
+ stained the wood accents in Provincial by minwax usa
+ sealed everything with an aerosol water-based polyurethane by behr paint
