Behold- our new Christmas tree! We used to visit the tree farm and cut one down every year but a few years ago we made the transition to an artificial tree and I’m kind of in love with the symmetry of artificial trees. This one is still narrow but much fuller than our other tree. I tried a few things I’ve never done before, adding candles, berry picks and ribbon. I’m pleased with how she turned out and I’m surprisingly in love with how the scarlet red looks against the French blue. Definitely a win this year 🌲

Do you love a gallery wall but feel overwhelmed by just the thought of one? Start small. Clear off a shelf (or multiple) and arrange a variety of pictures and small collected pieces on display. You can leave a door open when company is over to provide a better view. I had a few different ideas for how to display my vintage Christmas postcard collection but I’m glad I went with framing them. They look perfect in my petite secretary. I was able to find the perfect frames this weekend and adding the backing was a lot of fun. I’ll probably add some fresh pine sprigs to complete this cozy vignette. I’m seeing this as a possible blog post in the future.

I don’t think I’ve ever had more fun designing a tablescape. The centerpiece is a whole moment on her own. It’s crazy to think that 95% of what I used this year I already had packed away. I can’t wait to share this quaint, but beautiful table with family and friends.

I’ll be soaking in this mantle a few weeks longer. The wood is a perfect backdrop for the red and green and the mercury glass adds a touch of sparkle. It makes me smile knowing Kyle built it. Notice Minnie’s polar bear front and center. To say that was her favorite gift this year would be an understatement.

This McGee and Co. tree is absolutely gorgeous but, if you purchase everything to decorate this tree it costs well over $1,000. Unfortunately that isn’t in everyone’s budget. I’ve found nearly identical items for around $400. You can have the same look for less!

I don’t have many pictures of our Christmas tree but I live this one and how the lights are glowing. We’ve always had real trees but a few years ago I decided to try an artificial one. Picking out a tree and cutting it down at the tree farm is a tradition I miss but we’ve made a new tradition of decorating the tree together and it feels just as special. I chose a slim tree for this area because I want sure how much room we would have in this room for a fuller one. I do have my eye on a fuller tree so it may be making an appearance this Christmas season or the next.
