in our last house, I had organized my office closet to perfection, but when we moved in here, everything got shoved in and did not fit perfectly in the awkward shape of this closet like it did the last space. also, with quarantine craft projects galore, my craft drawers were a mess. I felt overwhelmed and kept avoiding it. until @the.have home called and asked if I had any areas in my home that needed organizing? #umyes 🙈

so here’s the thing: I consider myself an organized person, and I actually enjoy organizing things. 🤓 I never thought I needed a professional organizer to help. but in reality, my schedule just does not allow for me to dedicate the kind of time or attention that this closet needed.

mikaila @the.havenhome was a dream to work with, and kept me on track and focused while sorting through years of stuff and memories. (this is where I keep all of our printed photos too 😢)

she took care of all the donations, trash, and purchasing of new storage items, before bringing them over to my house and putting everything away AND labeling. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

annnnd they’re back (again)! today my kids went back to school in person and there was a lot of excitement all around.

when I first started on separating the boys’ rooms, I knew I needed to include a little study nook for my big boy. no matter what the remainder of this crazy year was going to bring us, he needed a dedicated space for school and homework for the years ahead. fun fact: he has never had his own room in his whole life until now. so I think he earned this one. we’re both so happy with how it turned out! 🤩

we only left the @grandsirenisrivieramaya all-inclusive property once during our stay, and that was to take this private fishing boat to snorkel and catch our lunch. 🎣 🤿 🐠 we actually booked with the company that was right on the property, so if you stay with @grand_sirenis, I would highly recommend them! ◀️ swipe to see tony’s catch and a peek at the sea turtles and stingrays we got to swim with. 🌊🐢👀 definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

I found all of the kids suits, trunks, and rash guards on @alexandalexa and they were perfect for this full day out on the water. ☀️ I loved that they were all coordinated but not exactly matchy-matchy (this time 😉).

my gramps taught me how to wrap, and still to this day wrapping makes me so happy because I always think of him as I’m doing it. he would get out a yardstick to make sure each cut was perfectly straight, meticulously match the print on the underside, and make a tag out of wrapping paper placed just so on the package that it blended right in. 👌🏼

it’s the puzzling for me.

puzzles have become a family holiday tradition around here. this year, I ordered a custom christmas puzzle of our fam to work on together from @minted. this kids were blown away how I managed to get a puzzle with OUR picture on it 🤯😂😍

I also started wrapping this week and it feels good to have a few things under the tree. can you spot a peek of those gorg @minted wrapping papers there in the corner? 😍 of course I went with all the foil prints in this pretty neutral blush color pallet I could find. and the paper from @minted is 👌🏼 quality, of course. there’s still time to shop both puzzle gifts and wrapping paper @minted!
