It was time to teach our oldest how to get up on his own. This kid-friendly alarm clock is pretty indestructible (we’ve had a humidifier spill on it and basically drown it but it survived!) It’s also easy for parents to set the alarm clock and has a nice light in case you need to check the time in the dark! We love it and both our 9 and 7 year old have them now! Easy to turn off and snooze as well! Available in so many colors too

James has had his desk all set up for about a month and it’s so fun to walk in and see him creating. We’ve equipped him with simple and essential tools as he creates! Our first purchase was a few clear letter organizers for all his original comic books! An organizer for his pencils, tape, scissors, sticky notes and markers. Lots of white copy paper, a lamp, alarm clock and loads of scotch tape!! We wanted a separate desk shelf for all his treasures so the clutter didn’t add too much chaos! Our goal for these essentials is to help keep his space organized and ready to create! So far, it’s working great! What did we miss?

This!!! Just a boy in his new book nook! James is a voracious reader and there are typically stacks of books all over his room! We really wanted a reading space and a place for everything so everything could be put back in its place 😂 Well I really wanted this wire basket for the books! James can spend the evening reading and re-reading his Greek Mythology Graphic Novels and at the end of the night we can quickly throw all the books into the basket and ta-da, his room feels clean again! Dreaming up each space for him has been so fun!
We love his hat rack too! He also wanted a place to ah g up his drawings - so these jumbo cork boards have been perfect! Last but not least, these black out curtains are the best for a growing boy like James who lives to sleep in!

We finished James’ bedroom! Our 9-year-old boy has a room of his own to read in, dream in, create in and so much more! James’ room was a bed and dresser before our adventure started. We tapped into his love of reading and created a reading nook with a book basket, chair and cozy blanket. He always has a comic book in the works so a desk and all the desk accessories was an absolute must! We wanted to keep space in his room so his dresser is in his closet and it works! Finally, it was high time to give his toddler bed 😅 to his 4-year-old brother so we got him a new queen bed and can use his room for extra guests when we need to! James loves hanging out in his room!

We’re so close to finishing James’s room, and here’s my favorite nook! James loves creating, and one of the main reasons for redecorating his room was to give him a dedicated creativity nook. He loves drawing, writing comic books, collecting Pokémon treasures, and reading, so we needed a space to fit all of these fun passions. This desk nook is perfect! We especially love his desk, chair, and desktop essentials—like the cute lamp, alarm clock, letter trays, rotating desk organizer, and more!

Working on our 9-year old son’s bedroom! Gathering all the Boy Desk Essentials for James’ room! We grabbed a timeless chair and desk for his space - this desk chair is sturdy and great for kids! James is really into comic book creation so some essentials include: a stackable letter tray, a rotating pen organizer, a stapler and sticky notes! He also loves reading so we grabbed a classic desk lamp and added a simple alarm clock! He is beyond excited and spends a lot of time in his new space!

Slowly updating our 9 year old son’s bedroom! His desk chair arrived today and it’s sturdy, functional and cute. Took me about 10 minutes to open and assemble! Can’t wait to make his boy bedroom dreams come true! I feel like a few of these chairs would be super cute around a small round table too!
