When choosing items for my home, especially items that I know we will use daily choosing quality items is always most important. I wanted counter-stools that weren’t just pretty, and comfortable but ones that were built to last.

This years Holiday mantel! Comment mantel for links!!

I am totally obsessed with this years Holiday mantel. I had this vision in my mind of something that not only looked super organic and curated, but that also looked like I went foraging in the forrest to create it! I used 6 total garlands to create this look. With 3 different garland varieties ! The varieties of garland I used are cedar, olive and one mixed cypress berry garland! I’ll be sharing my step by step tutorial for how I created this look tomorrow so be sure to stay tuned.

Today I am so excited to share with you the first space I’ve finished decorating for the holidays. When I started planning my decor for this year, I was so inspired by this gorgeous velvet ornament from @mcgeeandco that you see on my tree.

The colors I’m using are mostly earth toned neutrals that are seen outside this time of year. I’m using more flocked elements, with a tiny bit of grey/blue. I loved everything Mcgee launched this year, and can’t wait to share more!

When designing a room, where do I start?

The most effective way to style any space is….

LAYERS! Creating visual interest is best achieved by balanced layering! Here’s how-

1- I always start by grabbing my tallest items first! This mirror doesn’t move from this space, and acts as my pallet for everything and also the focal point. Since the ceilings here are quite tall I love adding super tall greenery, and usually a pretty print in my gallery easel to start.

2- Candlesticks, vases, and books are always pieces I like to layer in next. Use varying heights of different objects to create balance.

3- Don’t forget texture! Texture includes your rug, florals, baskets etc. Here I used these gorgeous wicker baskets, beautiful patterned rug and gorgeous chunky knit throw for texture and visual interest. You want your textures to be different, so it’s not all one note.

4- trial and error! Don’t get frustrated about not getting it right in the very first try! I still don’t, and try lots of different things until it’s “just right” !!

Most importantly, have fun and do what you love! Your home is a reflection of you, and the pieces you choose to style your home with should also be 🤎🤎🤎

Fall Bedding Inspo

What I love about fall most, well the two things I love about fall most are first all the gorgeous colors, and secondly all the cozy layers. And a bedroom is the perfect place to add both!

I added this gorgeous velvet quilt, and it’s the prettiest shade of Forrest green. Pairing it with this rusty brown, and black gingham just seemed like a fall match made in heaven! Our weather here is still quite warm during the days and these are the perfect weight to climb into at night.

Steps to create a gorgeous, and welcoming entry!!

I always start with a gorgeous cozy rug! Something easy to clean, and that hides dirt! I love jute rugs in the entry for this reason!

An entry also needs somewhere to sit, and remove your shoes! Whether that’s a bench, chair or ottoman!

And the final piece I always add is a mirror. It reflects light, and makes it feel brighter and bigger ! It’s also somewhere for guests to check their hair after entering from the elements!

Don’t, do this! Do this instead! If you want your faux stems, to look the most realistic you need to play with them a little!

I always bend the ends, instead of cutting to fit my vase. Always use varying lengths and be sure to manipulate the branches! The wilder, the more realistic they will appear!!
