The BEST professional (and personal) advice I have ever received was from Michelle Lynne of @designedforthwcreativemind when she said to “build the jet while you fly it!” This means that even though you aren’t going to have all the answers figured out, you can still move forward with purpose.

I have carried that into my business and personal life, and it’s made me better because I have learned to give myself grace and “fail forward” as I make mistakes and grow!

It’s been a minute since I have shared more of my home, so I wanted to give you a little peek at my son’s dinosaur room today!

When we renovated our house it was very important to me to set my kids up with spaces that would grow with them. These wall decals from Etsy are perfect because when he eventually moves on to other interests (😢) we can just peel them right off and have a blank slate!

The wall color is Sherwin Williams Hunt Club, which is one of my favorites, but fun fact: my son was very disappointed that I didn’t paint his room red! Does anyone have a red little boy’s room that is t absolutely heinous?! Tag me in a picture so I can see it, because that is the one wall color I just can’t get behind! 🤪

This is my favorite way to organize my family’s board games! I purchased these plastic freezer bins (pro tip- two large bins will fit perfectly side by side in the IKEA Billy bookshelf)! I then “decanted” each board game’s contents into my number one favorite organizing product, this zipper pouch set. I usually use a ziplock bag for tiny pieces and then put a rubber band around all the cards. For boards that don’t fit into the pouch, I simply stack them behind the pouches! I can’t be the only one that can’t stand having a bunch of cardboard boxes to deal with, so this is such a great and cheap solution!

I had a great conversation with my client yesterday about making conscious decisions to fulfill the dreams you have for your family and I think this is such an important topic that we don’t talk about enough! She spoke about how she always envisioned her children growing up with a dog in the house, but life got in the way. She woke up and realized her kids were almost halfway through their childhood and there was still no dog in the house, so she made it happen!

It’s so easy to lose sight of the big picture when we are in the thick of life, and I really appreciated the reminder to take a step back and evaluate my goals for my family so I could take concrete steps toward making them a reality.
