Sometimes a quick overnight trip is all it takes to feel completely renewed.
Chatham Bars Inn in Cape Cod delivered everything I love most: timeless style, cozy luxury, and that classic New England charm that makes you feel like you’ve escaped into a storybook. From ocean views to elegant dining, it’s the perfect mix of relaxation and inspiration.

Here’s the fun part: I’ve actually been coming to Chatham all my life — we even own a home here. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve probably seen glimpses of the Inn before in my photos and stories from my daily walks. This time we couldn’t stay at our house (it’s under renovation 🛠), so it was the perfect excuse to experience Chatham Bars Inn like a true guest.

And stay tuned — I’ll be sharing a full Chatham Renovation Series soon. I can’t wait to take you behind the scenes of this project and show you even more of this beautiful town through my eyes.

A new chapter begins on Cape Cod… For as long as I can remember, this house has been part of my story. My parents bought it in the 1980s, and every summer, every holiday, every laugh seemed to echo through these old 1800s walls.
Now, with my mom’s blessing, my husband and I are stepping into the next chapter — renovating my family home on Cape Cod.
Our goal: open up the first floor, brighten the space, and most importantly — keep the heart, history, and character that made it home.
This is the very beginning — a walk-through of the first floor before renovations begin. I can’t wait to bring you along for the transformation of this beloved home, one story and one memory at a time.

Demo day on Cape Cod 🏡
 They say every renovation starts with chaos — and they’re not wrong. The week began pulling down walls, uncovering 140 years of craftsmanship, and getting our first real glimpse of how this 1803 home will come back to life.

Our goal isn’t to modernize it completely — it’s to open it up, brighten it, and preserve every bit of history that makes this home so special to our family.

It’s equal parts emotional and exciting watching decades of memories meet new beginnings.

The moment it all started to feel real.
 The walls are officially down — and for the first time, we can actually see how open and bright this 1803 Cape Cod home will become.
It’s emotional watching the old walls go, but also exciting knowing the character, craftsmanship, and soul of this home will still shine through every new space.
Temporary walls are up while we rebuild the structure — and it’s starting to take shape. We’re preserving what we can, modernizing what we must, and trying to stay sane through the dust in between.

This is Episode 3 in my Cape Cod Renovation Series, and it’s one of those milestones where everything finally starts to make sense.
