This is exactly the kind of fall outfit I reach for: a denim shirt layered under a burgundy ponte jacket, cream wide-leg jeans and burgundy slingback heels.

The denim keeps the jacket from feeling too dressy, the cream jeans lighten everything up, and repeating the burgundy in the shoes makes the whole outfit feel pulled together without looking overly styled.

These are 5 outfits I really wore this week — and apparently I had a very clear fall color palette in mind.
