Save this golden rule for later! Most people think their living room feels off because they haven’t added enough furniture.
But that’s not the problem. Here’s what’s really happening:
Your rug is too small for the space. What most people miss:
letting the rug float in the middle of the room. When a rug only sits under the coffee table, the entire layout feels disconnected. Even beautiful furniture can look awkward when it’s not grounded properly. The result?
A room that looks smaller… and never quite finished. The fix?
Go bigger than you think.
Make sure the rug reaches all major furniture pieces.
At minimum, the front legs of every sofa and chair should sit on the rug.
Ideally, let it anchor the entire seating area. If you’re not sure whether your space needs styling or a full design plan, comment UNSTUCK and I’ll send you a free checklist to help you figure it out 🤍
