Head to head: Twilly style. We have @shopcjw vs Hermès and CJW excelled in all arenas. When I think Twilly, I think a skinny piece of silk, but they really can be a full look. There are 3 things I always look for in Twillys because they vary so much across brands. Width: CJW is wider than Hermès. Length: CJW is longer than Hermès and Weight: CJW is lighter and flowier than Hermès. All of these elements have their perks. Because it’s wider, it’s a full look around the neck. Because it’s longer, you can wrap it around more than once, use it as a belt, or on the handles of a tote. To me lightweight is sometimes better especially if it’s summertime and this one I’m using today is appropriately called Summer Friday. How I wash an Hermès scarf at home in just a few easy steps. The hardest part is being brave enough to do it, but it truly works like a charm. I wash my own scarves this way and I'm washing a few for my new little "As Seen in" scarf boutique (coming soon). Here are all the things you'll need- 1. Le Blanc Silk and Lingerie wash (this is my preferred detergent). It's gentle on silk, but works very well. 2. Dawn Dish Soap for stains that may be grease based. 3. Shout Color Catcher Sheets to stop any potential running of dye. 4.
Rubber gloves if you don't want your hands in detergent 5.
Bins for handwashing and rinsing 6. Magic Sizing Fabric Finish. This is what makes your scarf stiff and starched (I don't like a lot, but a little is helpful). 7. A towel for drying 8. A drying rack also for drying 9. And an iron. It sounds like a lot, but some of these things you may already and most are not too expensive. And here are my 5 favorite ways to style this @shopcjw scarf in the summer. And this is not a small scarf— It's a huge 140cm blanket of a scarf.
The first thing I love about this scarf in particular is the cotton and silk blend. If you're worried about ruining a silk scarf in the summer, this one is so flowy and breathable. And the second, is obviously the bags. We get everything from an #IKEA bag to a #Birkin because there's always a moment for both. A large scarf, like this one, works perfectly as a top, dress, sarong, as a headscarf and on a bag. As much as I love an Hermès scarf, they don’t need to be Hermès especially when there are so many other scarf brands creating amazing designs too. These are by CJW and here I am using their CJW Silk Bandana Twilly and the Noodles Silk Twilly. Absolutely love the double face design of the Bandana Twilly (also comes in blue and pink) plus how fun are the noodles in pink with burnt orange at the end? I also like the dimensions of these Twillys. They are both wider and longer than Hermès making them a little easier to use on a bag handle or to wrap around twice on the neck. There are so many things you can use instead of a scarf ring, one of them being a lock that comes with an Hermes bag for any other lock, as shown later). It's the perfect size and has a nice weight. I also love
incorporating the Hermes Annual Cadenas (or lock charms) that they used to make in the late 80's-early 2000's. The Pelican from 1992 is the perfect match for my new Faubourg Tropical Detail scarf. #hermesscarf #hermesscarftutorial #hermescadena #hermescadenas

Although some Hermes scarf rings are helpful when they are double sided (with 2 holes) like the Mors scarf ring or Chaine d’Anchre, when you just need 1 opening, a ring is perfect. And why not add some sparkle? A bigger ring will work better with a size 90cm scarf and a smaller ring for a 70cm or 45cm, like I have here. For reference this ring is a size 4.5.

Love a bandana knot and this one is even better with a scarf ring. I’m using the Hermes Chaine d’Ancre scarf ring with a size 90cm Hermes scarf. Love that it cuts down on the size of wearing a 90cm #hermesscarf and you can see the pattern from the center, not the thick edges. It isn’t very often that I see Twillys being worn around the neck and there are so many fun ways to tie them. I am all for knots that look much more complicated than they are. Once you know the bias fold and can do it quickly this knot will take no more than 20 seconds. This knot works perfectly with an #hermes90scarf scarf and also with a 70cm, if you have a slightly tighter scarf ring. Absolutley love all the detail on the #hermes “A L’ombre des Pivoines” and the contrast between sides when tied this way. #handbagsocialclub #hermesscarftutorial
