when we adopted we didn’t just grow our family with little Georgie but also with his birth mama. We are so thankful to have her in our lives and that she has wanted to carry out a relationship with Georgie & us. Ultimately she gets to decide what contact looks like and we are very thankful for what it’s been this past year. Adoption is beautiful, complex, and life changing for all involved. Every time we talk to her she always ends the convo thanking us and as we ended our day with her she gave us a hug and thanked us again and I looked her in her eyes and thanked her for her love & making us parents- we were both in tears.
