If I’m being completely honest, I’ve never loved the layout of our living room. From the front entry, it always feels like you’re walking straight into the back of the sofa, and the flow just seems a little off. So... we’re getting ready to start our newest home renovation! We’re moving the fireplace and adding more windows to the living room to bring in more natural light. Our home just doesn’t get a ton of it. In the summer we get maybe two or three hours of really good sunlight, and I’ve always wanted more. If you’ve been following along for a while, you know I’ve tackled most of the projects in this house, including two major bathroom renovations. But for this one, I’m hiring someone I know and trust. As much as I’d love to take it on myself, I move a little slower, and this project would disrupt our family's dayto day life for much longer than I'd like. As for the decor and furniture, I plan on keeping almost everything. I truly love the pieces in our home, and I've always believed in choosing quality over quantity. I'd much rather invest in timeless pieces that I know I'll love for years than constantly replace furniture with every project. The only piece that won't work with the new layout is our oversized sectional. We use it more like a sofa, but with the fireplace moving, it just won't fit the space the way we need it to.
