Week 9 of the primary bathroom renovation saw the good, the bad and the ugly. Some positive moments were installing my last piece of crown molding (ahem did you see the fancy return I made?!) and getting my new faucets installed. I picked these ones because I love that they have a vintage flair to them. These are part of the @kohler artifacts collection and are available at @loweshomeimprovement

The agony over a paint color continues but I think I have it narrowed down to two picks: light grey and drop cloth.

Renovations usually come with some hiccups and this one is no different. Stay tuned to see how I navigate this tricky situation with the countertop company.

In the meantime I’ll be tapping, filling and sanding somewhere between 1,500 - 2,000 nails and nail holes, so if you have any good true crime podcast suggestions drop them in the comments below. I like a thriller but one that gets solved!

I’ve always dreamt of having a kitchen with white Carrara marble countertops, but it wasn't in the cards for my no demo kitchen reno. But also, why live with something you absolutely hate? The answer is you don’t have to.

Last fall while I was renovating my kitchen, I decided to transform my dark speckled granite countertops into a white carrara marble finish simply by painting them! It took me three base coats of white primer, and then I added “veining” by dragging a skinny paint brush dipped in charcoal grey paint and misting it with water for a feathered effect.

But won’t they get damaged? That’s where the epoxy topcoat comes in. The epoxy adds a shine and protects the new “marble” from everyday kitchen use. I’m 8 months into using mine and they’ve been holding up great!

I’ve been struggling with picking a paint color for the primary bathroom.

I love going bold in small spaces and in my opinion powder rooms are just begging you to have fun with your design. Not too long ago I decided to up the drama in the powder room by adding bold wallpaper, chocolate high-gloss paint and brass accents. The result is a conversation piece for my guests and what feels like a little jewelry box for me.

Probably should be working on the bathroom, or mowing the lawn, or working out, but I spent my morning moving things around. It’s my favorite way to quiet my mind. Anyone else?

Some highlights:
👸🏽finally found a spot for my lady portrait. She’s above this vintage chest I found on FBMP and I think it’s the perfect pairing. I’m not officially working on the office yet but I’ve been quietly collecting.

🖼️ dismantled the gallery wall in the entry way and stole a couple pieces for other spots. This etching above the toilet in the powder room + a tiny oil for the kitchen. I had a different one in the same spot but like this one better. Both were from estate sales last year.

💡 swapped lamps. The brass penny lamp works so much better scale wise next to my new Lenox garden spice collection. The Athena marble lamp got moved to the bookcase in the living room. Both are from @alicelanehome Now of course I’m thinking about rearranging the bookcase.

🫙the tidiest pantry! It may still be plain Jane beige but at least it’s organized. I’m thinking about adding wallpaper to the walls and painting the shelves. What do we think?
