When I’m Styling something simple I ask myself these questions when looking at my closet:
* Can I layer something on top of it?
* Can I layer something under it?
* What accessories would change the entire vibe?
* If I can’t change the silhouette of the piece (tucking, making shorter, etc), what can I add to it that helps define or highlight an area?

Here’s the breakdown of how each of these is styled for quick reference!

It’s all about finding the right fabrics, cuts, and fits that work for you. For reference, I’m an hourglass shape with a tummy, and I like to use clothes to highlight my waist while staying comfortable in the midsection. Here’s how these swaps worked for me ⬇️

* In the first outfit, you can’t tell I have an hourglass shape at ALL. The jeans are straight all the way down, too long, and they are super clingy in the tummy. The tee shirt length hit me right at a wide point of my body and the material made me look boxy. Overall this outfit gave the illusion that I’m more of a rectangle shape and I was uncomfy

* In outfit two, the jeans are relaxed throughout the tummy and hips and are the perfect length for flats. The tee is relaxed as well, and tucks really nicely with a draping effect. Overall it gives an effortless vibe while honoring my hourglass shape (and I’m comfy!)

The jeans are a new find from @Eloquii (for my size 14 and up girls). I’ll link some similar from other brands if you wear smaller sizes 🤍 I’m wearing a 14 and am 5’6” for referencee

Honest Review of these Amazon swimsuits 🤍 which one is your fave? 👀 wearing an XL in all!

* Black and White Swimsuit: GIRL. This is one of my favorite swimsuits I’ve ever tried on. Supports the girls, has thick adjustable straps, has a lace up back so you can adjust as needed (I hate the back/waist gap some one pieces have, this is so helpful!). Also a bonus that the white panels on the side give the illusion of a snatched waist 💅

* Zebra Deep V Swimsuit: Would only recommend if you are smaller in the bust area because the way I was about to fall out in one swift move….nopppe! It comes in a bunch of patterns so I’m sad it didn’t work for me, but if you have a smaller cup size it could be perfect for you!

* Brown Swimsuit: Could be cute on the right person! I’m too busty for it- the straps are thin and removable so it didn’t support me at all. Love the look of it so this is another one that is more small cup friendly

* Zebra Swimsuit/Cover Up Set: GIRL ADD THIS TO YOUR CART IMMEDIATELY. My one knock is the bikini bottom is a string style but it’s not adjustable, so I’m going to swap with a different one. I think it would be so cute to wear this coverup over a pop of color too (like orange or green). Super fun for a vacation look

* White Swimsuit: Love the style but you can see the cups easily in this color. I’m going to try one of the darker colors and see if I like it better. I think that’s always a risk with white/cream so I wasn’t totally shocked. Still cute though!

Honest Reviews of these Spring dresses from Amazon 🤍 wearing an XL in all and am 5’6” for reference!

* Yellow Lace Maxi Dress: LOVE her. Comes in a bunch of other colors, I’m not wearing shapewear but you could wear shaper briefs/ shaper shorts if you wanted more tummy coverage. I wore the top straps as a halter so I could go bra free, but you could also do a sticky bra with this and wear the straps straight like in the Amazon picture

* Brown Polka Dot Mini Dress: Petite girl friendly for sure. I’m 5’6” and my bottom half tends to hike skirts up so if you’re taller than me and have a booty like mine, it may be too short. If you’re below 5’6” she’s perfect for you. So lightweight and flowy, and the color is perfect

* Green Maxi Dress: y’all I want to love her, I really do. I think I’d feel more confident in this if I could wear shapewear, but the way the back is set up I don’t see how I could make it happen the way I want to. This may be so so cute on other body types but I think I may have to return her

* Navy Polka Dot Midi Dress: She’s definitely comfortable, I’ll give her that! I think I imagined the waist a little bit more ruched and defined. But the polka dot piece and the solid navy piece underneath are not connected, so I think that’s where the miss is on this one.

* Navy Pocket Dress: pocketssssss! This was the one I got asked to review the most and I have to say I was surprised that I liked it. This isn’t a style I would typically go for, but I want to style it a few ways for you so you get a better idea of how to wear it!

* Yellow Layered Mini Dress: this one was out of left field for me! Any time I find something tummy friendly AND I don’t have to wear a bra, it’s 5 stars all the way. Love this butter yellow shade, love the airy fabric- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️#curvyfashion

Jeans I wear on repeat as a curvy/hourglass shape with a tummy! ⬇️

1. You know them, you love them- these are a high rise loose jean from @abercrombie. They are relaxed in the hip and thigh and give my midsection room to breath. I’m wearing a 33R

2. My hot mom jeans from @levis 🔥 They’re straight leg, ankle length, and are specifically cut for wider hip/smaller waist ratios (so no gapping for me in the back) I’m wearing a 34x32 (my hips are 48” for reference). I linked the plus size range of this one as well!

3. New to my collection- these ankle length, wide leg light wash jeans from @torrid . They have a button closure which is so nice when I want to feel extra secure/supported in the tummy area. True denim, so good for mom duties. I’m wearing a 10R (their sizing is different so be sure to look at the sizing chart on their website to make sure you get the right fit!)

4. These are from fashion nova and can’t be linked here but I will link them in my ShopMy and IG stories!

5. The only low rise jean I own (and it’s from @abercrombie of course). Loose in the hip an thigh, hits below my belly button but isn’t like “TRL circa 2002” low rise. I’m wearing a 33R

At this point my makeup routine is on autopilot 💅

Here’s the full face rundown:

1. Clear Eyebrow wax (I have thick brows that need a heavier product to keep them tamed and shaped all day). This one is from @baebrow

2. Lightweight, medium coverage foundation with a lil skincare component. I’ve been wearing @makeupforever HD Skin for the past year and I can’t stop. It’s so glowy and hydrates without looking oily

3. Pink Color corrector for under my eyes because your girl stays tired 😴 the cream and power are from @hudabeauty

4. Cream contour 🙌 I found this one on Amazon and it blends so so well. It’s a neutral tone so it’s not too grey or orange on my skin

5. A super light cream highlighter (2-3 shades lighter than my skin). I apply on the bridge of my nose, under my eye at the outer corner, my forehead, and a tiny bit on my chin to bring all of the high points forward

6. Cream blush (trust me). A little bit goes a LONG way and is so nice for a natural flushed look

7. A neutral light brown eyeshadow in the crease and I always always use a dark brown eyeshadow as my eyeliner for a softer look. I’ve been obsessed with this eyeshadow trio for everyday

8. A powder iridescent highlighter in a cooler tone (think moonbeam). This one is from @milanicosmetics and I looove her

9. My tried and true @maybelline mascara. She’s been in lineup for over 10 years now

10. The perfect mauvy/rosy lip combo using @r.e.m.beauty gloss (smells so good) and @makeupforever artist lip pencil
