The older she gets, the more I realize these moments don’t just happen anymore. We have to make them happen. 🥹🥹

Life gets full so fast. School, practices, games, friends, schedules that seem to take over everything. And if we aren’t careful, the time together can slowly get squeezed out.

So sometimes it looks like this. A quick Starbucks run. A few minutes in the car. Singing a song we both know by heart. It was nothing big or planned. Just choosing to be together.

I’m learning that as our kids grow, connection doesn’t always come in long stretches of time. Sometimes it’s just a few intentional minutes where they know you see them, you enjoy them, and you want to be with them.

I hope she always knows that when the day feels heavy, a drink, a song, and a few minutes with mom can make things feel a little lighter.

Youth sports have turned me into a forced extrovert.

Don’t get me wrong, I actually love the families on our teams. Some of the best people we know have come from sitting in bleachers together every weekend. *special shoutout to my friends for being my stand in ppl*😂😂

But after a full day of games, talking, lots of standing, brackets, and concession stand dinners… your girl is socially exhausted.

Because the truth is, I can’t expect my daughter to win battles I’m not even willing to fight myself.

If I want her to guard her heart, I have to show her what that looks like.
If I want her to put her phone down, I have to be willing to put mine down.
If I want her to choose rest, discipline, and wise habits, I have to model that in my own life.

Our kids are not just listening to what we say.
They’re watching how we live. That one stings. To me anyway.

This world is shaping our daughters whether we like it or not.
So the question isn’t if they’re being formed.
It’s who is forming them.

Lord, help us be the loudest discipleship in our homes.
Not perfect moms. Present ones.
Not performative faith. Practiced faith.
