2️⃣ Focus on the fit of your layering piece by following the rule of thirds. If you’re bottom half is more fitted, you want something a bit more relaxed on the top (see the fit and style of my blazers and the difference it makes)
3️⃣ opt for a pointed toe shoe over a rounded toe if you want to appear taller & leaner
4️⃣ tuck & belt. Avoid having your base layer hit at your hips. By tucking in your top and adding a belt, it defines your waistline and draws the eye up

If you are petite and want your legs to appear longer with flat shoes like a sneaker, opt for a jean or pant that lands right above the shoe - if it is dragging the ground it’s too long and if it’s competing with the top of the shoe it’s too short and will make your legs appear shorter. Sharing my favorite jeans here that I wear with flats and sneakers and are literally worth every penny and my most worn jeans in my closet! (Available in several washes and short and long lengths)
