I’ve stopped paying so much attention to the size on the tag. But still… shopping is a test of emotional endurance. With oversized and relaxed fits in stores, and a size 10 bottom half with a smaller 36B top half, I’m constantly sizing up and sizing down in the same dressing room. I could conceivably bring two different sizes of almost every piece back to try on. The hard part is less the number on the tag anymore. It’s having to keep going after something doesn’t fit. You have to ask for another size, try another cut, and remind yourself that you only need to find one thing that works. These days, it’s easiest to shop with someone who can run out and grab another size while I stay in the dressing room. It keeps the momentum going and makes it so much easier to keep an open mind instead of giving up after one disappointing fit. Here’s my pre-fall LOFT try-on, complete with way more dressing room notes than you probably wanted. 😄 If you’re looking for something specific for back-to-school season, let me know in the comments. I’ll keep an eye out the next time I’m in the dressing room. 📏For reference, I’m midsized, 5’6”, slightly short-waisted, 36-B bust, and wear a small or medium top with size 10 jeans.
