I surveyed you all recently in my Stories about dresses, and wow… you have a lot of thoughts and feelings about them. Almost 2,000 responses later, one thing is clear: Dresses after body changes can be really hard. Some of you said finding flattering styles feels impossible. Others said sleeves, dress length, arm coverage, fit through the midsection, and finding something that still feels like you are the biggest challenges. I get it. I’ve spent years trying dress after dress looking for the magic combination: sleeves, an easy waist, comfort, and a shape that doesn’t make me feel overwhelmed by fabric. This carousel is my own dress experiment: the styles I tried after body changes, the dresses that I DON’T reach for on repeat, my analysis about why, and what I’m wearing instead. One thing I’m learning is that figuring out what works after body changes takes trial and error, grace when a piece doesn’t work as hoped, and optimism that you’ll find something better. After hearing all your responses, I realized I’m not alone in rethinking what I want from dresses. I’m curious: Have your dress preferences changed over time? This final dress is from @bananarepublicfactory. It fits big, I sized down to a small. The medium was loose in the chest. 📏For reference, I’m midsized, 5’6”, slightly short-waisted, 36-B bust, and wear a small or medium top with size 10 jeans. LTKMidsize LTKOver40 LTKSaleAlert
