I finally added a red sweater shell to my closet. Red and black velvet totally work together. I’m obsessed with the visual interest a striped ruffle-neck button-down shirt adds to any outfit. I’m leaving it untucked for a relaxed vibe and to show the cute striped hem for even more visual interest. I’m creating stylish tension in this outfit by choosing a very casual pair of jeans with these black kick crop jeans with a raw hem. The cropped length instantly makes the look more casual and shows off the black leather ankle boots. I chose boots with a 2” heel rather than a chunky flat lug sole for a more elevated feel. Today’s outfit to take Zuzu to the vet. She’s 15 and started limping this weekend. But she’s on the mend now and doing much better. I matched my outfit to her because I knew it would be covered in dog hair after our visit. These light blue cords are old but the same color is available from LOFT (tts). I love a classic red plaid Christmas blouse, and I had been eyeing this one from Social Threads for a few weeks. When they sent it to me to try, I was genuinely excited. If you follow me here, you may have already seen that I wore it out to dinner and a movie on Saturday night (with the same jeans). It hits right at the hip, which makes it easy to wear untucked or with a simple front tuck.

I paired it with my well loved Risen kick crop jeans, also from Social Threads. They run true to size. The forecast here says Christmas temps may be a little warmer, so ballet flats may be an option for the holiday!
