This week I celebrated my 52nd birthday and someone asked me how I feel about getting older. To be honest, it’s a love/hate thing. I’m loving the perspective that comes with age. I love knowing what truly matters and what doesn’t. But I do not love living through the lessons required to gain that perspective. As we navigate yet another “major life stressor” in our household this year, I’m reminded of one of the most profound lessons I’ve learned over the last decade: It can always, always, 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 be worse. I do not say so in a dismissive way or as a reason to ignore hard things. Only as a reminder to myself that perspective is a gift. One that’s really hard to accept at times, but a gift nonetheless. So shut up, Buttercup, put on some cute shoes and show up for your life. 💛 It’s messy, imperfect, and sometimes painful. But it’s still your life. About 2 weeks ago I started using the Re:generative Super Power Vitamin C Serum from Intelligent Nutrients every morning before the rest of my skincare and again at bedtime before my night moisturizer and I’m already starting to notice a difference in how my skin feels and looks ✨ My skin has been feeling smoother, more hydrated and just a little brighter overall. The AFTER ✨ I tried a new-to-me customizable cleaning service through Homeaglow and this is exactly why I wanted to give it a shot. Instead of paying for a generic house cleaning, I was able to choose how much time I wanted and prioritize the things I actually needed help with. She tackled both bedrooms and bathrooms, the living and dining rooms, entryway, windows and all the usual cleaning, but also handled some of those little jobs that somehow stay on my list forever. She even took down and rehung my shower curtain and carefully dusted all of the dinnerware in my dining room cabinet. 🙌 Everything feels fresh again, and having someone come in specifically to knock out the areas I wanted done made SO much more sense for me than committing to another regular cleaning schedule. Trying a customizable cleaning service for the first time and I have to say… this is exactly the kind of help I’ve been looking for. 🙌 I’ve had the same house cleaner for nearly 20 years, but as she’s started scaling back, I’ve realized how helpful it would be to have another option I can use as needed, starting at $19/hr! I was able to choose how long I wanted the cleaner here, what I wanted her to focus on, and even add on specific tasks depending on what my house needed most. I was determined to make dinner using ingredients we already had, and this creamy chicken + spinach over angel hair pasta came together so well. Stop what you’re doing and get these 🦟 repellent stickers if mosquitoes love you as much as they love me😂 I am a mosquito magnet.
