For 32 years, I have been able to almost completely dictate how my body physically looks and feels. That came to a screeching halt when I got pregnant. I had NO idea pregnancy was this grueling, and I feel very humbled, and also very very blessed. It has taken me many frustrating days, lethargic workouts, and mental battles to overcome the anxiety of my body changing so much while being totally out of my control, but I have had to rewire the way I think to embrace these little changes, even as frustrating as they may be. Fighting a 9 month battle with myself wasn’t worth it. I had to learn to let go. Sometimes I laugh at myself, and yes I have even cried out of confusion, frustration, and probably hormones (lol 🙄). But one thing I know for certain is this: I have coached many women through their pregnancies. I have trained, read books, and done the research to know exactly what nutrients myself and my baby need, what the healthy amount of weight to gain is, and how to safely and responsibly gain & lose weight during & after pregnancy. If you are or have ever been in my shoes of mental frustration over physical changes out of your control, know that nothing has to be permanent, and sometimes it’s best to just embrace it, and quit fighting it. Pregnancy is certainly one of those times where you must learn to embrace & let go of the fight.
