My sleep has been brutal lately. Just look at my Oura data.

Travel, stress, late nights… my nervous system has not been happy at all. And it’s not for lack of trying. I’ve tried so many things and nothing was helping me fall asleep and stay asleep… until I got my hands on the Sleep Well roller from Saje Natural Wellness.

My skin looks awful right now… and it’s normal.

I had thyroid cancer in 2008.
They removed my entire thyroid.
And for a long time, it controlled me.

A few years ago, my body started rejecting the medication I’d been on since the removal and that was my moment.
I decided no more. I switched medication, and while it took time to balance, it finally gave me my real self back.

By then, I had already started working on my health from the inside out.
My sheds became part of that, not just skincare, but nervous system care… and managing the long list of things that come with not having a thyroid.

A few things people don’t talk about enough:

Skin:
Dryness, puffiness, slower healing, texture, flare ups. Not aging, just a body trying to regulate.

Liver:
It now has to process all your hormone medication. When it’s sluggish, everything shows up in your skin, energy, and inflammation. Castor oil packs and drainage help me so much here.

Brain:
Brain fog, fatigue, mood shifts, anxiety, all normal when your thyroid is gone or imbalanced. Getting my meds balanced and calming my nervous system literally brought my clarity back.

Nervous System:
Losing a thyroid shocks your body. You feel it in digestion, sleep, energy, stress tolerance.
My sheds are how I regulate myself now.
They’re not aesthetic, they’re how I stay grounded.

So yes, my skin looks off today.
But it’s part of healing, balancing, rebuilding.

I’m not hiding it.
I’m not ashamed of it.
This is what it looks like to actually care for yourself.

You can tell a lot about my nervous system just by looking at my skin.

When I’m unregulated, my skin shows it, breakouts, inflammation, dullness.
It’s my body’s way of saying slow down.

So I do.
I shed. Even if it seems strange ..
it helps me feel grounded.
Mouth tape, face mask, under-eye mask, forehead tape, nose tape

Pressure, warmth, movement, all of it helps calm my system and bring me back to center.

I would never recommend anything I haven’t tried myself, and trust me, I’ve tried a lot of tape 😅
