🎨🖌️ Our little art caddy for the kids!

Our youngest is a big fan of all things art, and these are his favorite everyday art supplies that he uses on the regular. Mostly the regular kids’ stuff. I like to buy the twist up crayons and colored pencils (less breaking and no sharpening!) and the click markers (no lost caps!).

But of course, he has taken over some of my supplies, as well! He loves the acrylic paint markers (left corner, back) and the dual tip adult coloring markers (right corner, back). These are definitely his favorite!

My older son loves to practice writing with the gel pens and the flair pens.

My teacher thoughts? Expose them to as many writing instruments as possible from an early age (safely, of course). It helps them explore the pressure needed to use them, differences in medium, hand grip, and its sensory!

I love getting my kids a little something for Valentine’s Day. ❤️ I’m a momma of two boys, ages 4 and 6, but I think some of these items are fit for older kids, as well!

I mostly shopped at Walmart, which had the cutest stuff! I got the container (7.7in x 6.3in) and it holds all the candy and fun items, plus the juice! Then, I wanted to add some books (as always) so I went on Amazon and found what I needed. My oldest loves Minecraft, and their workbooks really motivate him to work on his educational skills! And my youngest is into early readers. I’ll put the books and their splurge gift (the Yeti tumbler) next to their little container. Cute & affordable! ❤️ I linked a similar, more affordable tumbler, as well. (We desperately needed new ones, so I got that one too.)

Hey! As I am recovering from an abdominal surgery, these are what I have found to be my MUST haves to keep comfortable during the first hard days.

When I left the hospital, I was so glad I had this seat belt cushion! The nurses gave me some heat packs to put in it to keep me more comfortable. I simple cannot imagine not having one.

At home, I went straight to lay in bed, and I was so glad I did some research beforehand on what would keep me comfortable while laying on my back (I am a certified side sleeper, so I knew I’d have trouble staying that way and end up in more pain. This specific wedge pillow for your upper body is so unbelievably comfortable. Other wedge pillows don’t have a good transition to the bed, but this one does, which I think makes it amazing! At first, I didn’t buy the foot wedge, but a day in, I kept trying to build one up with pillows and it wasn’t doing enough. So I immediately ordered this one, and now I am allll set and basically pain free while laying in this position.

Since I knew the doctors orders were going to be to mostly lay in bed for the first few days, I scooped up this bed tray so I could eat and keep myself busy with some activities while I rested. It folds up easily and fits under the bed when I’m not using it.

Another thing I ordered was the dry mouth lozenges—because the pain killers were giving me some crazy dry mouth!

And lastly, a shower chair. In the first couple of days, it can be hard to stand and take a comfortable shower, so this was worth every penny for me. Especially when washing off all of the orange skin sterilizer they used!

Overall, without all of these items, my recovery so far would be a lot more uncomfortable. And they’re all affordable, and many are on sale! If you’ve got an abdominal surgery or a c-section coming up, make yourself comfy during recovery!

Dogs with long, curly hair require a lot of maintenance, and it can be challenging! So, if you’re in a situation where you have a dog with a needy coat maintenance schedule, I have found some stuff that works wonders!

First, before a bath, detangle it all. Water actually makes tangles worse! I had no idea, and let me tell you, from experience, this is true.

To get out tough mats, coconut oil is KEY. Seriously. Key. I isolate the mat, rub some coconut oil in it, and carefully brush it out. Which brings me to…

Brushes. My maltipoo HATES being brushed, and I’ve realized over time, that it’s the brush. I have always just picked up what was at the pet store, and I’ve learned that curly hair is DIFFERENT. I found an awesome pin brush made specifically for curly coats, and when I tell you this brush-hating pup had the spa appointment of his life, I’m not kidding. Rolling onto his belly and all! Now that has NEVER happened.

Okay, the coconut oil is in, the mats are out. It’s time for a bath. You are gonna need a degreaser shampoo that will get all that coconut oil out…or your curly pup will have very crunch curls… 😬.

With this shampoo, I lather him all up and leave it on for about 5 minutes while I go in with the slicker brush to slowly go over his coat to grab any dead hair I missed. And I give him lots of pets and kisses. The best part? You don’t even need conditioner. It leaves his coat so soft and shiny!

After I dry him off—careful not to make more mats, he is a shivering little thing, so I bust out the doggie blow dryer. I love this one. It has heat control so it will never get too hot, and I can continue to brush him out while I dry and warm him back up. I do put some detangling spray in the spots that usually mat (neck, armpits, back legs) and dry him all up.

When he’s nice and clean, he gets a treat!

In between baths (about every 4 weeks), I brush him daily with the pin brush and the mat issue has really decreased. Easy peasy! 🍋

As a mom, squeezing in some self-care beauty time needs to be quick, easy, & effective! These are some of my favs that I can fit into a daily routine!

Under eye patches: I use them while I drink my coffee! Tip: keep them in the fridge for extra awakening!

Lip Mask: I hate chapped lips, and I throw this on before bed to prevent them!

Nail Strips: No UV light, quick to stick on, stays throughout ANYTHING (dishes, construction, you name it), and easy to peel off with no damage to your nails. Finally!

Wet brush: A necessity for longer hair. Easy to comb through and no damage done!

Scalp Massager: Yes please! I use it while shampooing! So many benefits and feels so good!

Tumbler: I won’t say hydration is key, because we already know it, okay?

Winter in New England has begun—and it’s cold! As we head into even colder weather, these are my favorite things to keep me nice & warm!

First, a wearable blanket! I was gifted an Oodie for Christmas, and I have been living in it at home! It’s so warm and SOFT! I can’t link this one, but I linked one similar that got amazing reviews!

Second, this scarf. Oh, it’s so soft! No wind is getting through this! Wrap it around you while running errands, commuting, or even walking the dogs and you will be toasty! Perfect winter outfit accessory!

Third, these wool socks. They aren’t uncomfy, scratchy wool. They’re super soft and warm! If you aren’t a slipper person, these are awesome! And they can fit in your shoes because they aren’t too thick! Great for pairing with boots!

Slippers. I love a good pair! These Dearfoam ones are perfect. Plus, they’ve got grip! No slipping in these—and faux fur lined!

Finally, a candle. For when you’re all bundled up and cozy on the couch. Nothing warms up your home like a nice cozy winter scent. I love this one!

We hung curtains in our living room! These pretty curtains were an Amazon find, and the quality for the price is unmatched! A pretty linen in the color “natural,” they are light filtering and really finish off the window, with the blinds!

I love using these shorter curtain rods to keep the curtains in place. Tip: Hang about three inches above your window trim, and extend about six inches from the sill corner on each side to make your windows appear larger than they actually are!

Finally, the steamer I used to get all the creases out is the best I’ve ever used! And I’ve tried MANY.

These are my must-haves while skiing.

Even with a balaclava, your lips can get super chapped, so I keep some Aquaphor in my pocket to keep applying between runs. Can’t ski without it!

I take a pocket pack of tissues because noses run on cold days.

As the day goes on, and late afternoon comes, temps drop off and sometimes my hands get cold. To last me the last couple runs, I break out the hand warmers!

And finally, tunes. I have an iPhone and use AirPods while I ski. Gotta have a good playlist going while you’re skiing down the slopes!

Other than that, I just tuck my lift pass into a zipper pocket and go!
