The sun is starting to peek out more in Chicago, but the temps vary drastically throughout the day. Layering will be my go-to concept until the weather catches up with the season. Plus, layering is such a great way to take your outfit up a notch.

I adore this oversized, corduroy button up top. Here, it’s serving as my outerwear over a lightweight sweater and bootcut jeans. The slim jeans help to balance the bulk of the oversized shirt.

Here’s a perfect outfit for a casual spring day. LOFT calls these pants their work-to-wherever, go-all-day pant, and I can see why. Very sleek, yet comfortable, with a midrise waist and a semi slim pant. I’ve paired it with a cotton-linen top. Add a raffia belt and bag, as well as some gold jewelry and flats.

It’s the season for spring dresses, and LOFT has a great selection. I love this tie waist striped mini dress. Very cute and very comfortable. I’d pair it with gold jewelry, a raffia bag, and strappy sandals. I think it would also look cute with white sneakers.

The weather is getting nicer, and that means it’s time for skirts, skorts, and tank tops. To keep it upscale (but still comfortable), opt for well-fitting pieces in fabrics like cotton and linen. I also feel like a skort has a nicer look than shorts, so it’s a great alternative.

I’d pair this with flat, strappy sandals and a raffia handbag.

This textured, floral appliqué jacket would be a gorgeous focal piece for your next spring outfit. It’s feminine and delicate, and is a perfect piece that says hello spring!

The drawstring waist of the turquoise trousers keeps the outfit comfy, while its structured material keeps it classy and upscale. I paired it with gold jewelry and a white, textured clutch. However, turquoise jewelry and a wicker bag or clutch would look fabulous here. Peep toe heels remind us that we’re entering the warmer season. (But if it’s still chilly in your area -like mine- you can layer a long sleeve top underneath the jacket and wear black bootleg pants and Chelsea boots. I think the outfit looks great either way!)
